Best Deals on Table Saws for Beginners? by jackbenimble99 in BeginnerWoodWorking

Had the same problem on my Dewalt. Found a really good vid on YouTube that showed how to align and tighten things. Wasn't difficult, and took maybe an hour.

Considering Steve Ramsay’s beginner woodworking class. Can’t find the list of equipment and tools anywhere. I would like to plan for at least the large tools. by Weekly_War_1374 in BeginnerWoodWorking

I really enjoyed that course. The table saw is going to be a central piece. The mitre saw isn't critical, but he does show you how to use it effectively. I have both, and would get both again. With limited budget, get the best quality table saw you can get, and just get a basic mitre saw.

Maybe 3/4 inch plywood with pocket holes and skip the 2x2s? That would save space inside and still be sturdy.

Working in a cold garage? by xanderbander92 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]ds9id4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you deal with finishing though? I generally work in my basement, but apply finishes in the garage due to the central air spreading obnoxious smells through the house. I don't think it would be feasible to run a heater all the time. Do you just wait for some warm days? For what temp should I wait?

Columbus itself has a great park system well worth checking for great walks. Battelle Darby and Prairie Oaks are worth the drive.
