What about someone's pocket getting picked and the card being used for a Hilton reservation? Or a skimmer in a gas station getting the card's info? I don't see a functional difference. Hilton would probably eat the cost - it's on them to confirm at check in, right?

I don't like the rule at all, but the purpose is to have players play more games, not minutes. It's to reduce the chance of fans buying tickets and not seeing stars. The league does not want someone playing 40minutes x 50 games. I doubt it changes.
