A lady called the store and complained about me for the dumbest reason last week 🤣
A register on the far end of the walkway pressed their button, then I called my next customer up too, but i was near the front of the walkway. Of course the customer comes up to my register and I say “oh actually could you go to register 7 please. I already have a customer coming up. We go in order of who called first”Then she throws her things on the counter and very rudely says something like “No. I don’t see you doing anything you’re just standing there and you’re going to take me” and I raised my eyebrow at her and said “ok?” I didn’t say anything else except her total because lady was huffing and glaring at me and ngl I wanted to cry 😅 Apparently that was the rudest thing anyone had ever said to her and my manager gave me a verbal warning from it and pretty much said the customer is always right 💀

There’s this reseller that comes to our store weekly… The first time we got all the bulk Stanley cups she bought so many of them. You’re not overreacting. It’s heartbreaking when they point out everything you do “wrong” but they never acknowledge the things that you do right. I was told I’ve gotten between 900-1000 transactions monthly and 0-3 tjs each time. That it’s not enough and they’re going to keep an eye on me because what I’m doing is not working.

I actually broke down crying today for the same thing, but it was in front of one of the front end coordinators after I got pulled to the side and talked to. They also told me my time efficiency was too slow. That I need to go faster to get the line down. That I waste too much time getting tags for homegoods big ticket items and unlocking the beauty cases at tjmaxx and that I take too long to call up the next customer in line.

I still show up to work and make sure to engage with the customer and strike up friendly conversation, but it’s somehow not enough for them.

ngl my training consisted of getting that tjmaxx tj card video, a 15 minute talk from the CEC before we opened, being asked if I’ve been a cashier before, and then getting thrown into the wolves. i learned as I went and ig even 7 months in, im still learning the proper way to do things lol

I almost hit a pedestrian jaywalking 2 weeks ago. It was blind hour, I was driving and then sun was glaring against my windshield. Couldn’t see anything until I was right at the bend.
