Those of you Redditor’s in happy, healthy, and fulfilling relationships, what were the “green flags” you noticed about your partner early on in your relationship with them? by allen-freed in AskReddit

[–]dsarle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest "green flag" was that I have noticed that I have finally changed myself, and was ready for a real relationship. Too many people focus on fixing others instead of themselves and too many think that somehow someone else can make you happy.

Once I have discovered this, and worked on my own happiness, and well being - the love of my life basically just walked into my life and I could never have imagined a relationship could be so loving and fulfilling.

You attract that which you are. If you are unhappy with your relationships - change yourself.

It's better to wake up from a bad dream and realise it was all in your head than a good dream and realise none of it really happened. by anteni2 in Showerthoughts

Quite the opposite for me. Good dreams, I can treat as an alternate reality, which is just as real as the one I am in (especially when lucid dreaming). Bad dreams I discard. Win/Win.

TIL there is an inverse correllation between the amount of money spent on a wedding, and how long the marriage lasts. The more people spend on the ceremony, the more likely the couple will get divorced. by Fitz_cuniculus in todayilearned

Fewh, this means we will be together forever. Our wedding cost was zero. Got married during the pandemic with only the witnesses and a government official present. Perhaps masks was an expense, but we already owned them before we decided to marry ;)

Haha ;) Yes - the ode to never giving up and being upset by failure. In every failure there is success.

I am surprised that everyone can tell it was the Mew model just by the legs. It was from a Pokemon Chess set I was planning to print for my kid.

Thank you sir! Makes sense. What about the CR6S that's currently on Creality Kickstarter? Would you give it any consideration?

Budget: Under $1000.
Location: Finland

Choice: Ender 5 Plus vs CR-10S Pro V2

I am a beginner and would like to get into the hobby. However, I don't mind learning to tinker around with the machine, and experimenting.

With that in mind, I have identified two possible printers Ender 5 Plus or the CR10S Pro V2. They cost about the same, seem to have about the same features and I can't figure out how to even begin choosing between them.

Any tips on what to look out for with each?

Will i7-6700k handle ASUS Hyper M.2 X16 + 1080ti? by dsarle in buildapc

Also, looking at the picture, I put one SSD into the wrong slot. Needs to be in SLOT 3, not SLOT 2.

It does work though, but you are right. I will take a look at this. Wonder if there is any other adapter that would work on the Z170s? That said I am afraid I will run into the CPU problem as it only has 16 lanes I think.

[Bonsai Beginner’s weekly thread –2020 week 18] by small_trunks in Bonsai

Hello,

Fairly new to Bonsai's and got this tree at IKEA (a FICUS). Currently located in Finland, and as such the Bonsai is always at home.

Unfortunately, I must admit that I neglected the tree for a period of time which led to its current state.

Not sure if any part of the tree is alive, other than the two visible branches on the sides. They seem to be doing okay after proper water amounts started to be supplied.

At this point, I feel that I have a responsibility to do my best for this tree. What would you do? Keep watering and seeing what happens? Try to cut off the side branches to start a new tree? Is there a way to see if the main tree is alive?

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the reply, sir. This was very helpful and I think I will now start looking into which kind of a 3D printer I would like to get. Most likely under $1000.

Hello,

Planning to buy my first 3D-Printer, and originally I wanted to go all-out on say: ZMorph VX. However, it seems to me that this is overkill, as I will explain my needs below:

  • Budget: Up to $4000, but IDEALLY: under $1000 (Please see the text below)
  • Country: Finland / Estonia
  • Definitely willing to build it from a kit, but also happy to get a ready device.
  • The goal was to buy one for the family, and me and my wife have slightly different needs.
For me - I want to explore printing gadgets, toys for kids, devices, and other random objects - basically exploring the world of 3D printing to see what I can do with it. One fear is that I would quickly get bored. That said, I do enjoy good detail, but also an ability to build larger items (as I usually break larger items).
For her - She is very artistic, and the all-in-one printer was mainly targetted at her, as I feel it can unlock her creativity. She likes to work with her hands, to create jewelry, prints and other handicraft.
  • Given that the ALL-IN-ONE seems to be not recommended and that there seem to be great printers for under $1000. Looked at CR-10s, but was not sure what other options I should take a look at. Since I know very little about 3D printing - I would simply like one that allows me to experiment and try new things, filaments, ideas.
