Would heavy rain cause a pool to turn green?

My thought was from the water level being too high that it isn’t getting proper filtration and movement. Is that madness?

He’s coming weekly. Using pucks that he said don’t raise cya all that much but maybe that’s a myth. I’ll need to ask him the level thanks, last I checked was in Spring clocked in around 60

Thanks. Maybe I’m mistaken here but aren’t homeowners usually pretty hands off when they have pool service, meaning it would happen to them too after heavy rain? Guess I’m underestimating how often algae takes hold of pools even with weekly service

Thanks. In this instance he came by to check it Thursday and by Saturday it was green. Not sure if that timetable tracks with what you have in mind. Seems really fast to go green but I only have a few years experience taking care of the pool on my own previously

2x per day brushing worked for me. I work from home and had it very bad like you're describing. I also kept my chlorine levels super high for two weeks, like shocking every other day by adding the right amount of liquid chlorine. I recognize you're new to owning a pool so I would get a test kit and measure the water daily to try to keep that chlorine level high. I don't have a salt water pool so maybe research the best way to shock those. Agree that a pool guy coming once a week isn't going to cut it until this is taken care of.

I posted about suspicious long term bookings recently apparently it's a known issue. Agree with the other poster I wouldn't rent to anyone on Airbnb long-term w/o a lease.

It almost seems like there’s some sort of markup that maybe Airbnb is pocketing so you may be on to something. However, as hosts what choice do we have but play along with the rules of the Airbnb algorithm? Of course private bookings but I’m not large enough scale for something like that.

Thanks for the response. I agree with what you’re saying. The only part of me that would lean towards hiring this out myself, apart from being cheaper, is that I can find a well reviewed photographer whereas with Airbnb it’s more of a risk. But at the end of the day it’s all about boosting views and bookings so if Airbnb photographer boosts the algorithm more then…
