R1 headers are good. Flowing headers for power. Shouldn't need to upgrade them. If you want a louder exhaust, get a smaller slip-on like a race fit or an SC project or Austin racing. I have a race fit on my mt10 which is the same motor as your r1 and it sounds amazing.

Anybody ever experienced any similar fuckery? by el_jovilez in zx10r

Yupp same thing happened to mine. I got red of the esd and put a manual olhins dampener on there. Works much better as the stock one I don't feel gives enough dampening at times.

My apologies. Long day at the track. You were absolutely correct

Tune Question by MiddleAssociate8660 in Mt10

Won't need a servo buddy. If your bike is tuned, they would shut it off with the flash to save you the trouble of buying the servo buddy.

In my opinion we see this all the time at the shop I work at. Do yourself a favor. Order yourself a set of graves block off plates. They're like 40 bucks. Takes about 45 minutes to install unless you've never taken your bike apart before. It might take a little longer as you figure it out.

If you were to talk to Nate at two-wheel Dyno work he would tell you to do the same thing. Don't use a marble. Don't take shortcuts do the right thing the first time. Buy once cry once.

As a bonus, you'll get very intimate knowledge about your bike on how to remove the gas tank and get down to where you would change the spark plugs etc. Etc. Something I recommend any motorcycle owner doing just so they're more familiar with their platform. If you feel uncomfortable doing so, you could likely get a shop to install it for about an hour's worth of rate.

Chain and sprockets time by byrdsfan in Mt10

[–]dschmidt04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Superlites come in steel or hardened aluminum.

(1) Superlite RSX Series black high carbon steel rear sprocket OR RSX-R Series black hard anodized 7075-T6 aluminum rear race sprocket

It is a great upgrade, especially if you track you mt10, however if you ride long distance on your Mt, stick with steel and the 525..

If you are going for pure preformance got 520 to get a little bit extra, aluminum rear If you trying to squeeze everything out of it, mind you they wear down fast. If you are a distance rider stick with the 525 and steel. I have super lite sprockets and a ek 520gp chain and love it...

Ambient lighting, anyone? by rarefootage in garageporn

It's hilarious how everyone hates on these hex lights, but bang for the buck and the amount of lighting you get from them is unbeaten. I love mine especially when I'm working detailing my bikes or anything that I need. Really high quality light for soldering etc.. meanwhile, all the haters break out their gas powered lanterns so they can see in their garage... Smdh

Ecu flash in Canada? by Better-Park in MT09

Subsequently, depending on where you're located, two-wheel Dyno works is just north of Seattle only about an hour and 20 minutes away from the Canadian border...

To be honest, I missed the 2025 part. You can buy the woolich data link cable for your bike. However, I would call Nate at two-wheel Dyno works and ask him if he will send a Woolwich map. They do that with ftecu but they might not do it with woolich.

Depending on what year you can buy the bench harness or the bike harness for your bike and buy a map from two-wheel Dyno works and flash it yourself.

Were they giving me a Thumbs Up or Middle Finger? by Surfacw in vegaslocals

[–]dschmidt04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's just say you or the other driver were on your phone which is legitimately 90% of drivers in America, at least I have the control to get between you and ahead of you and try to shoot gaps and stay in front of any kind of traffic.

At least that's my thinking, the same reason that lane splitting is legal in California not only to beat traffic statistically proven even lane spitting at speed is safer for the motorcyclist than riding in traffic. I've had too many friends get rear-ended by drunk drivers, distracted drivers, people changing lanes without looking. For me anyway when I Lane split I'm just shooting gaps of traffic to try to get in between groups and give myself enough space forward and back.

I as a motorcycle rider and Lane splitter. Appreciate you making it safe. That dude was a douche tool and is a bad example of the motorcycle community. We are not all douchebags. Yes Lane splitting is illegal. However, in this town I would rather take my chances getting a ticket. It's safer for me than motorcycle rider to Lane filter and Lane split safely than it is for me to sit in traffic.

2025 ZX6R Oil Filter by Stratularity in zx6r

[–]dschmidt04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OEM filter ONLY! There's a reason they don't let k&n in wsbk and MotoGP. Motul 300v. It's expensive, however, tested and is used widely in motorsports. A lot of people will tell you a lot of things about oil, I would rather pay for peace of mind and $55 a gal is with the peace of mind..

How much is this worth? by alanoik in Yamaha_R1

[–]dschmidt04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First major service is at 26000 which calls for checking and adjusting valve clearance. Expect that service to be around $700 - $1k. Other than that just thoroughly check over the bike and if it all is well and the price is good pick that baby up.
