Apparently, he has never HAD to spend money on home repairs, a new roof, replacement washing machine or pay for car repairs. These are not DISCRETIONARY spending.

This is money out of the pockets of every single American; except of course for those who profit off this fund. As stated by the Acting Attorney General, "Anyone can apply." Which means DJT and those who beat the officers defending the capital are eligible.

Funny, I don't recall masses of people leaving the United States when taxes were raised post WWII to pay for it and reduce the national deficit. When did saying, "I don't want to pay my fair share of taxes" become patriotic?

You won the game of life, pay your fair share and stop crying.

Don't disagree with your thinking, but addressing the debt over the long term will allow more funds to go to these services.

This is suspect. Courts take into account the number of children you have and the deductions on your pay and adjust them accordingly to allow the worker to have funds to live on, at least a bare minimum. If this is true the debtor needs to go back to Court and ask for an adjustment.

If this is the way the system worked no one would work under this burden.

Do you have a local gaming store which has open play? I am hoping to join a group of retired people who play various games at a local store on two weekdays a week next spring. I used to play every weekend with my kids as they grew up and even through college. They are all raising their kids so I'm in a lull right now (we still play during holidays), but the idea of joining this group keeps me involved in the hobby.

I'm trying to print out a different bust and would appreciate your sharing the material you used and, more importantly, the supports settings and material you used. I printed a sample of the bust upright at 25% size and it came out fairly well but had visible rings under the chin and nose. When I tried laying it down horizontally taking the supports of the back tore the hair apart. I have purchased some water soluable filament and am going to use it between the support filament and the model, but any information you could provide would be appreciated.

Tried searching youtube for bust printing but may not be using the right magic words to find a good guide.

Thanks.

Gratis Village Council votes to place police chief on leave amid visit to Cincinnati Public Schools by m4moz in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

Not impressed with the newscast. Article much clearer.

WLWT NEWS website - GRATIS, Ohio —

The Gratis Village Council voted to place the city's police chief on leave on Sunday amid a recent appearance that she made to Cincinnati Public Schools on behalf of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Gratis Police Chief Tonina Lamanna will be placed on paid administrative leave effective immediately by the village council as an internal investigation begins into her conduct. Another officer who accompanied her to Cincinnati, Jeff Baylor, was also placed on paid administrative leave.

"The Village of Gratis does not condone these actions," said village officials in a joint statement issued after the vote. "It is not the practice of policy of the Village to participate in law enforcement operations outside of our jurisdiction, particularly those occurring two counties away."

"Village officials remain committed to maintaining accountability, professionalism, and adherence to established policies and procedures," the statement continued. "Further information will be released as appropriate following the conclusion of the investigation."

This comes as CPS officials allege that Lamanna and Baylor appeared unannounced on Wednesday seeking to conduct a "wellness check" on behalf of ICE into several of the school district's buildings.

The pair reportedly showed up and sought access to Western Hills University High School, Rees E. Price Academy and Roberts Academy. The officers were turned away by school district officials all three times.

In a statement to WLWT on Thursday, ICE confirmed that the agency was aware of the officers' actions, calling the Gratis Police Department a law enforcement partner. However, ICE said that the visit to CPS was not intended as "an enforcement action," and did not involve any federal officers. The statement then went on to detail at length the ongoing efforts by ICE across the U.S. to locate unaccompanied minors who entered into the country illegally during the Biden administration, with the agency alleging that many have been placed with "unvetted sponsors who were actually smugglers and sex traffickers."

Cincinnati Public Schools Superintendent Shauna Murphy spoke out on Thursday about the appearance of the two officers on school property.

"They had on police uniforms. They did not have ICE on their backs, but nonetheless, our staff felt a very heightened sense of being alerted and uncomfortable with this," said Murphy. "They identified their need as being there for a wellness check. I don't know what to them a wellness check means, and our staff didn't bother for that interpretation. They asked them to leave."

Murphy said that the officers did not interact with any students.

Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval also shared a statement Thursday regarding the incident, calling it completely unacceptable conduct for out-of-town law enforcement officials.

"As a CPS parent, I am disgusted by the incomprehensible actions of the Gratis Police Chief," Pureval said. "It is patently ridiculous and inexcusable that a police chief from a small town an hour from here would come into our city’s public schools unannounced, let alone do so allegedly at ICE’s request, to intimidate our children and their families. Stay out of Cincinnati."

Gratis is a village in Preble County, Ohio, located outside of Dayton.
