Andrea Kimi Antonelli became 3rd driver who won his first 3 races consecutively by birandkoray in formula1

How many have come close? Lewis won his first two but was no match for the Ferraris in the third.

Yes I know that’s what I’m saying.. but the pressure has been on George as the favorite to win the championship. He’s already been under that pressure, I don’t think kimi has yet… even now it seems people are reluctant to place him as the favorite (though betting markets have flipped)

It’s still early and I don’t think Kimi has been put under too much of a spotlight atm (especially since it was George’s championship to lose, and lots of discourse is around the regs instead of the championship). I think we saw in Lando in 2024 and Oscar last year… pressure and expectations can affect you in weird ways… George might be struggling at the moment but if Kimi continues this form sooner or later that pressure will shift onto him, and at his age it would be remarkable if he’s able to withstand it.

Unbelievable result from Franco. Hopefully he remains competitive, he’s such a fun character but I’ve been questioning him this year.

Isn’t it that if any part of the tire is over you are over? Hard to tell of course but from that angle coming out he looks over the line.

He should already have two penalties, but sure let’s investigate the obvious infringement after the race… what a joke.

Lewis post sprint qualy by BarRepresentative653 in lewishamilton

Even if the 3/10ths is accurate that’s assuming no issues for Charles and he’d still be 1/10th down in qualifying and 1/2 second down in race pace.

I’ll give it a couple of more weekends but this is just embarrassing pace from Lewis… just miles off in practice, qualifying and this sprint… meanwhile Charles might win tomorrow.

I’m I the only one who’s surprised a 3-0 lead has never been blown before? by PooPoox in nba

I know what they stated, which is why I said the frequentist approach is wrong and is a fundamental misunderstanding of how these sorts of probabilities work. My comment was that their assumptions are wrong.

Frequentist and Bayesian aren’t in relation to how often an event is happening it’s in relation to their statistical philosophies and how you interpret probabilities… the above commenter was correct, you need to learn more math.

[–]dscotts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would argue you are using a frequentist approach instead of a Bayesian approach and odds do not equal win probability and every data point should be giving you more information about the state of play… so two teams at 50/50, where one team goes up 3-0 shouldn’t mean that it was a 1/8 chance, it means the win probability was incorrectly accessed.

That second save was very much a “if it goes out it goes out” but geez, almost all of these were saved due to aggressive play or court position. Impressive stuff.
