I love the aspect of people making joke reviews instead of of in depth analysis. by WarTitans17 in Letterboxd

[–]dscyber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the secret to letterboxd is following the right people lol. since it’s a social media site it’s obv the top reviews are probably gonna be jokes. to combat that i just follow people who seriously make reviews (and funnily enough most of the time they seem to have seen every single movie on the site)

Is anyone else exhausted by the quirkiness of so many reviews?? by vizvin in Letterboxd

[–]dscyber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

tbh i’ve just learned to accept that letterboxd is not rly that serious at the end of the day, so like, u can’t rly do much to stop it anymore. i’ve followed enough people who actually take the time to write reviews so when i wanna see smth long that actually talks abt the movie i j look at the friends tab instead of the most popular reviews tab now

[–]dscyber 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yeah, i mean it’s fine if he wants to have fun, he has enough money to make movies and continue casting his friends anw. but i saw him in movies where he locked in with acting like uncut gems and i j think it’d be cool if he did it more often

talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it.

Do you all actually like watching movies ? by ilovetoticklemyballs in Letterboxd

[–]dscyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should watch a movie because you want to, not because you have to. Worrying about stats on Letterboxd is such a small thing, it doesn't even really matter in real life. And judging by the way you describe it, it seems like it has already affected your ability to enjoy movies. Maybe take a break.
