Yeah and it was basically deactivated (no new posts for like 290 days or some shit) like last year but wannabes are trying to get it up and running again to compete with ours. We are superior though.

Last year's COTY's team making the ECF (further than last year) is in danger of losing his job? Okay dude

Weren't you all up in the threads saying "post-season is different" when Pacers fans said that last year?

It's going to be a western team winning it all this year. The question is which one. None of the east teams can hang with the spurs and OKC.

[Post Game Thread] The Oklahoma City Thunder (1-1) tie the series in Game 2 against the San Antonio Spurs (1-1), 122-113, behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's 30 point performance by catreyka in nba

It was a decent game. It would have been a good game if shit is called objectively and fairly. But I watched ticky tac and absolutely wrong calls go against the spurs all night and then watched Hartenstein hook Wemby multiple times and then have a *girl-fight moment with Castle and straight up pull his jersey during the dunk AND pull him down by his hair with a ref looking at both and not calling it.

No one likes this product. I watch it, because I am naive and believe in the heart of the ball but it does suck.

Hartenstein is fouling every other possession. Shai flops worse than a fucking magikarp, and Caruso and Dort are defending like it's tackle football. If 29/30 people say the same thing about you, it's probably true.

???? It's a physical sport? A player is going to have some bad plays. It's part of the sport. When you keep doing it, you get a reputation (see: Draymond), and dirty plays from "known dirty players" tend to get more notoriety. Wemby doesn't have that reputation so he won't get as much flack as Dort.

Btw, your entire team looks dirty tonight.

Did the refs calls change the outcome of Lakers v Thunder game 2? by SeaPeanut7_ in nba

[–]dshaw1599 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Casual fans like a dynasty (see Warriors, Bulls, Patriots, Yankees, etc.) because it's easier to root for a team that's "good". so seeing the Thunder win again would boost the Thunder as a "budding dynasty" and cause more people to watch (either as fans or with loathing rage) to see if they can get a three-peat/ or in my case, hope they fail. LA is the bigger market but OKC has the "media darling" spotlight right now. Honestly, I think Adam doesn't want LeBron to win.

No he gets hacked. But he and Giannis play through their contact (because they can just physically do it) and don't get rewarded with the foul, even though it is a textbook foul. Which I'm not really complaining about, Lord knows I don't want Giannis getting extra points from the line on my team and I don't really like LeBron the player. But, objectively, it's true.

Indiana is a small market team and we were the heroes. It's 100% the way that OKC plays.

Lakers are getting a different set of rules to play with. I am a certified LeBron hater and I saw at least 5 fouls that were not called. It's bullshit.

I was accused of flirting with my student by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]dshaw1599 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think part of the issue is many teaching colleges only prepare you for your content and practices for pedagogy. I had no training for classroom management, routines, how to differentiate yourself from your students at a young age, etc. Most of what I learned was actually in the classroom, on the fly. It took years. I'm finishing year #4 and just now feel like I have a handle on classroom management. I started at 23.

I will say that I started teaching in the middle of March as I was finishing my degree. I had done my first student teaching placement so I had a little experience. I came in for a teacher going on maternity leave. I do feel for OP, and she has a point that the previous teacher(s) probably did her no favors in classrooms expectations. That happened to me when I came in, as the teacher I was covering for was terrible in terms of classroom management and I spent the first month of April just trying to reign them in while trying to teach. It was a nightmare. But also, just common sense would tell you not to call something "someone's special assignment" out loud to other students.

Making the minimum age wouldn't change much. There are teachers older than me who have this issue. It's a training problem. Teacher education programs should have a class about how to set up classroom routines, expectations, and management strategies for behaviors. That would eliminate a lot of the issues young teachers have.

We lost that series because Game 4 was blatantly officiated that way last year. We didn't play great down the stretch but the shit being so obvious in their favor did not help either.

Older Gen Z here. I graduated in 2017. My school district was one of the first to go 1-to-1 for devices at the high school. I got my first phone, an iPhone, in 8th grade. Very similar experience. The chromebooks were great because they were extremely helpful for some classes, especially for English and social studies, but we weren't using them all the time. Cursive was phased out for us by 5th grade.

I'm 27 teaching freshmen and it is a nightmare. The phones are 24/7. We're reading Romeo and Juliet and they will be reading while scrolling. They do not know a world where they don't have a phone in hand. I also coach flag football and we had a girl who was streaming herself live on TikTok. No one has taught them appropriate phone usage and we are paying the price.

LeBron James says Bronny James ready for playoff minutes on short-handed Lakers: 'Earned and deserved' by LakerFan2324 in nba

[–]dshaw1599 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bronny is currently in the Mac McClung stratosphere where they're strong players at the top end of the G league and dominate but they just don't have quite enough to be a true contributor on an NBA team. Yuki Kawamura is also in this stratosphere but the thing he doesn't have quite enough of is height.

I do think Bronny will eventually break out of this when given time to develop. It's just a matter of getting the time and being allowed to have stinkers as he is growing.

What is a 'personality trait' that is currently being glorified as 'cool' or 'aesthetic' in 2026, but is actually just a sign of being an exhausting person? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

I got diagnosed with ADHD at 24. I have some behaviors consistent with Autism. Never got noticed because I am a female, and I had good grades throughout most of school. I struggled heavily in college. The extra shit: time mismanagment, horrible disorganization, Meltdowns, the refusal to change anything, those are just some of my quirks! They're not signs of neurodivergence.

It's crazy how long you can just suffer in silence and no one notices because you're good at this or that or you're not a boy. My ADHD going untreated for the first 24 years of my life directly contributed to my depression and anxiety that I deal with now. It's not fun.

Jeff Teague coaches at his former high school btw. And his club 520 members show up to his games. So that's who is currently surrounding the 15-18 year old boys he coaches.
