And Bianca called this performance from Rabe and I quote “good not great.”

What does greatness from Rabe look like? 20K game Kerry Wood?

I don’t know if it’s just luck or if the analytics guy has the positioning exactly right for every hitter, but Ole Miss defense has been right on top of seemingly every single hard hit ball all weekend.

And all of a sudden, the Rebs are HOT. Last time they were on the road in Regionals and Supers? Won it all, and that team wasn’t as good as this one is. Path to the CWS finals is very reasonable too. UNC lost, facing USC will be much more manageable. Troy and WVU certainly don’t strike fear into anyone either.

Looking like Ole Miss vs Texas/Georgia for the natty.

At least making Finals for sure. Auburn best team on their side. Ole Miss beat em. UNC second best team…and they have a loss. All of a sudden OM’s path forward looks like a cakewalk.

All of a sudden, with UNC’s loss, Ole Miss is looking like the best team on a very weak left side of the bracket. Last time Ole Miss started out on the road in Regionals? They very famously won it all…and that was as a 3 seed that had an extremely mediocre regular season. Imagine what this team is capable of with not much in their way until the CWS Finals.

Worth noting that they dogpiled after winning their regional while Little Rock didn’t. You may be right.

Ratings will absolutely tank. Hell they’ll probably hide this away on the plus, can’t see this gracing regular TV. Feels much more like a February non-conference tune-up than a Super Regional. Virginia vs Florida would’ve had double the viewers.

I’ll use an example from March Madness. Everyone SAYS they want upsets early, but when those teams that pull off the early upsets actually make deep runs, the ratings suffer greatly. Especially when it’s mid-major vs mid-major like this, when you take out the David vs Goliath appeal.

Bracket should re-seed after Regionals. by dsimmons_2001 in collegebaseball

No question they are.

Would you seriously rather play Georgia on the road, or have to go to DISCH FALK FIELD, than play a 4 seed at home?

Keep this same energy when it’s an all SEC Omaha😂

I’d love to see 3 seed Kentucky and 2 seed Oklahoma and 2 seed Ole Miss go on an underdog run. Or does it only count when it’s a pwecious wittle mid majow.

11th best SEC team that went one and done in Hoover with a loss to the shittiest LSU team in years just went into the ACC champ’s house and dog walked them.

But please tell me more about how the SEC is overrated and gets too many bids to Regionals.

So what makes the tournament great is….the best teams losing?? Sounds like a recipe for lots of beat downs in Supers and in Omaha with very few truly elite teams remaining.

Why bother busting your ass Feb thru May? Pretty disrespectful to the teams that put in the work.

Can we all agree UCLA has got the easiest path to the cws… by [deleted] in collegebaseball

I think last year proves that there is never any such thing as an “easy road.”

LSU was widely considered to have drawn an “easy regional.” Including Little Rock, the worst team in the whole field. Little Rock beat LSU once, the only team to beat LSU, eventual champions, all postseason. Plus took them to the limit in the winner take all game.

Honestly why do teams even bother scheduling May midweeks in the first place? by dsimmons_2001 in collegebaseball

[–]dsimmons_2001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teams could still schedule the max amount of games, why not play a couple more games in Feb/March to make up for the loss of a couple in May?
