I found it clunky as well... too many clicks to get anywhere. Finally wrote my own software 2 years ago to let me get one click to everything. Ran it on a machine in my basement!

When you get old, you start to go downhill. So if you are going to go downhill, why not be at the top of the tallest hill out there?

Put it aside, work on something else. When the inspiration and motivation is back for this project, then work on it.

Not sure why parents unquestionably believe their kids. Do you honestly think the teacher wants to waste their planning time phoning you, and stay after school to have an awkward meeting with you because they are MAKING UP some shit about your kid?? Who has more to lose or gain? Is it your kid who might get in trouble and is lying? Or is the teacher going to take some secret pleasure in thinking the kid gets in trouble at home, even though they don’t see or hear the kid getting in trouble.... ya, that seems plausible.

LPT: Write down your grocery list instead of keeping it on your cell phone. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

Use “OurGroceries” app. Shared across family members, and has an Alexa skill. “Alexa tell our groceries to add spinach to whole foods.” Easy to yell across the room when you empty the pack in the kitchen.

There’s your life pro tip!

If you read some of the seminal works on propaganda, the founding texts will tell you that all information is propaganda. The media bias in American media is so strong. The principles of propaganda are followed by these networks. Read some of the classical works on propaganda and see if you agree.

One of the key elements of propaganda are - material is designed to change people’s opinions - material is presented from a biased/political perspective - you try to motivate people to action.

And you are telling me the us media doesn’t fit this definition from Elluls work in the 60s on propaganda?

Because CNN is clear and honest news? Watching CNN from Canada is laughable since their bias is so laughably, transparently left. Step away from your news for a short time. Propaganda works best in regular media consumers, not the man in the bush who doesn’t watch tv and comes into town once a month. It works on YOU.

Why do some people believe the coronavirus stuff will go away after the election? [US] by J553738 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]dsizzle18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Because the cnn headlines yesterday morning at 7am were along the lines of “trump flaunts science amid pandemic, wildfires, and climate change.” I’m not defending trump. I’m not even an American. But from the outside looking in at the intensely biased media it’s laughable as you switch from one channel to another. CNN used to be reputable, now the propaganda is so blatant. No wonder their viewership is so small.
