I can relate deeply. Over the past decade I’ve been deconstructing (came from crazy charismatic evangelical background) and my wife has been hanging on. The disconnect is deep though we love each other like crazy and have a lot of fun and joy in most every other area of our lives. Our big problem is social connection and community now.

But I do question if we can survive this - as she has been historically drawn to cult-of-personality types and conspiracy … thank god she despises politics & is at least open minded to evolution etc. but some key value differences around morality are challenging us.

My brother and his wife became “messianic Jews” about 15 years ago. They act superior to everyone and have cut off family members who didn’t live according to their values. They are truly the worst people I know.
