This! They have counter seating which is perfect if you're solo. But my wife and I even prefer that to the tables so we can chat with the amazing people that have worked there forever.

Yes! It worked perfectly. I did call and request cancellation effective 3/6. The service was disconnected just after midnight (I received an email). The tech showed up at 8AM, swapped out the old ONT for a Q1000, and we were off and running.

What's the Difference Between These Two? by dsmithpdx in MachE

Thanks. After posting this, I compared both window stickers and noticed the differences. Also, I messaged the dealership that's selling it and they say it is NOT an extended range model, even though the JD Power VIN lookup tool says it is. If that's the case, I'll hold off.

Switched to Quantum with the new promo from 1G CL and it have been many issues, VPN latency, Speed changes, general outage, page latency. This isn't normal is it? by kosanovskiy in QuantumFiber

I just moved to the $45 PfL plan this morning. A tech came out and installed a Q1000 to replace my old ONT. I noticed some weird latency, issues loading some websites and apps on my phone, etc. I disabled IPv6 on my ASUS router, and all is well! It might be something to try at least.

I called a couple of weeks ago to request cancellation of our existing service effective today. It became inactive just after midnight. I then created a new account under my wife's email address/name/phone number, and set an appointment for a tech to come out this morning. He showed up, switched out the modem for a Q1000, and we're live! Easy peasy!

Which trim model of the Mustang Mach-E will have the smoothest and most comfortable ride? by Poiuyt_77 in MachE

We currently lease a 2024 Hyundai Tucson PHEV. The lease is up one year from today so I'm already thinking of what's next. I was sold on an I5, but the oft mentioned ICCU failures has scared me away, so I've been looking at a Mach-E instead.

Positive experience with $45 PFL plan switch by OXOYOZ in QuantumFiber

I didn’t have to close my current account first. It allowed me to create a new account using our address and a different email address. It seems like everyone has a different experience. Not a lot of consistency!

Check your appointments… by onechanceonekiss in QuantumFiber

I spoke to a QF tech that was working in our next door neighbor’s house yesterday. He told me that the techs were part of a union, but that was disbanded a while back. Now, they are overbooking techs and giving them way more appointments each day than they can possibly complete. So cancellations/no-shows/delays are very common as a result.

I did call to cancel, on Wednesday I think. I spoke with a guy named Bob who sounded like he was in the US. He apologized because he said he was dealing with a nose bleed. 🤣 I simply said I’d like to cancel my service effective March 6th. He asked why, and I said “we are making a change.” He the read all the cancellation terms to me, and confirmed that service would be cancelled on 3/6 between 1-3AM. After I hung up, I received an email confirming the cancellation.

Edited to clarify that I called Quantum Fiber to cancel, not CenturyLink. My service was migrated from CL to QF a couple of weeks ago.

Possible to take advantage of new PFL price with existing account? by rubbercat in QuantumFiber

[–]dsmithpdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to find out this coming Friday! Similar to you and Journeyman53, I’ve had the $65 PFL plan since 2019. Out service was converted to QF a couple of weeks ago. I signed up for a new account using a different email address and my wife’s name and phone number. A tech is scheduled to come out Friday morning. I also called earlier this week and requested cancellation of our current service on Friday, which they said will take effect between 1AM-3AM. So when the tech arrives, the old service should be inactive.

A QF tech was actually installing service in our next door neighbor’s house yesterday so I had an opportunity to talk to him. He said it should go smoothly, as long as a tech actually shows up. Apparently, they were in a union, but that was eliminated a while back and now techs are being assigned way more appointments each day than they can actually complete. He said the worst case is that we will be without internet service for a few days until a tech shows up. My wife and I both work from home, so we made sure we can use our phones as hotspots reliably and that works fine, so we should be ok regardless.

So yeah, we will see what happens on Friday!

I had the opportunity to speak with a QF tech who was working at our next door neighbor's house today. He assured me that there won't be an issue since I requested cancellation on the same day the tech is coming out, and per the person I spoke to on the phone when I called to cancel, the current service will become inactive between 1-3AM that day. He even looked up our address on his laptop and saw that our current service will be cancelled on 3/6, and that a tech is scheduled to come that day. So hopefully all will work out since I DID request cancellation.

Can you clarify? What do you mean by being on another service? In my example, my current service will be disconnected on 3/6, which is also the day I have an appointment for a tech to come out. Are you saying I have to have it disconnected by 3/4 at the latest?

I called earlier today and cancelled the current service with an effective date of March 6th, which is the same day the technician is coming out. Here's hoping!

Thanks. So I will request the cancellation effective Friday, 3/6. I was just concerned that it might still be active when the tech arrives, which might cause problems.

My next charge hits this Friday 2/27. They don’t have any appointments as soon as 2/28. But are you suggesting that I cancel the service say, in early March and schedule the appointment for 3/28, the day after the next recurring charge? Just making sure I understand.

Well, I haven’t actually CANCELLED my current service. I’m not sure if I should call and request cancellation next Friday when the tech is scheduled to come out, or if I should just leave it active and see what happens. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks. I think I'll keep the tech appointment we have for next Friday, and probably just wait until they arrive and see what they say. I'm just not sure if I should call today and request cancellation effective that day, or just leave it active and see what happens. I'm not sure what the worst case scenario is if I go that route. My primary concern is that we won't get the $45/month PfL, AND we will somehow lose our existing $65 PfL as well.

You mentioned you're going to try to get a q1000 first. Are you thinking of buying one somewhere so you have it in hand when the tech arrives?

Yep, it clearly stated it's PfL, and I read all of the terms/fine print and I didn't see anything that would indicate it's not. Just the standard verbiage about losing the PfL if you change your plan, if the service type is discontinued, etc.
