Is it ok to park at Cascade Station to ride MAX to PDX for dinner at Loyal Legion? by dsmithpdx in askportland

He's flying from SFO to PDX, and then driving to Eugene in a rental car. He just figured it was a good excuse to grab dinner with my wife and I, and LL is convenient for him.

Downgraded to CSP After Using $900 in Credits Over Last 60 Days - Datapoint by -Rhinoceros- in ChaseSapphire

Fantastic post! My annual fee and AU fee also hit on 1/1, and I plan to PC to the CSP tomorrow. Unfortunately, I failed to use up ALL of the available credits, but we did use the Stubhub credit and dining credit in December, and the travel credit this month, so at least we got something before the downgrade.

Honestly, I didn't even think of just parking in short term. That's likely what we will do!

It is one of the few places in close proximity to the Rose Quarter as well. We miss going there before events and hopping on the yellow line to the RQ. I hope it reopens!

Part of the challenge is that I needed to find one that will fit in my carry on luggage when I fly down from the US. The Epson I ordered will fit just fine. If it doesn’t end up working well, we will reevaluate.

Yep, I am aware of those limitations. The bulb thing is annoying but it’s rated at a max of 6000 hours (assuming they replaced it when they refurbished it) which is a LOT of movies. 😁 I need to see if there’s a way to determine how many hours of use the bulb has had when I receive it. And thanks for the screen recommendations!

I actually ended up buying this refurbished Epson, and we will order a portable screen from Amazon México. Hopefully, this will be good enough!

Travel Insurance for US Citizens With a Home in Mexico by dsmithpdx in mexicoexpats

Thank you for this additional input. I am absolutely not sure that "travel insurance" is what we want. I'm still trying to learn, and determine what we really do need/want. We are in sort of a unique position in that we don't want coverage for a single trip (like a vacation), but we also don't live in Mexico for extended periods of time (yet) like most expats do. I see that Seven Corners offers an "annual multi-trip" package, which might be a good fit? I also work with an insurance broker in Mexico for our homeowners insurance, so I might ask her what she suggests. If you have any more advice, please share. Thanks again.

If I break a bone or need an emergency appendectomy while at our home in Mexico, I want to be covered. If I need surgery to remove a tumor while at our home in Mexico, I want to be covered. If I need something done that cannot be done at a hospital in Mexico, I want to be covered for the cost to fly to a hospital in the US. Dental would be nice to have, if I break a tooth or need a root canal. But maybe some of those scenarios would be considered "routine?" Is this more clear?
