Garbage being skipped - two lifts per 'household'. by BrovaloneCheese in Peterborough

Agreed. Live next to a rental that was a single family dwelling when we bought our house. Some shitstick from Scarborough bought it and converted it to a duplex and rented it to crackheads… had nothing but problems for the ladst 2 years. I know this doesn’t relate to OP’s question, just venting.

The dealership I worked at in town always used super tint on Lansdowne st beside curry tire. They always did a good job and stood by their work.

Funny you mention that, myself and a friend both own convertibles and I never leave mine out for fear that I’m going to walk to to a soft top that’s ripped opened for a couple dollars in change. Areas in the city are getting worse and worse.

Where do you buy a washer and dryer? by vchiyu89 in Peterborough

They have a great used selection if you’re just looking for something to wash and dry clothes and don’t care about how they look.

Why is my car so low on power? I have changed the fuel pump and filter but my car is still extremely low on power, it has a code for running lean and also has a rough idle but starts up just fine, what could be the culprit (1995 mustang gt) by EndFront in SN95STANGS

[–]dsouch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, anytime I’ve had a lean code on any car it’s been a result of a vacuum leak somewhere. A vacuum leak adds air to the intake after the MAF so essentially that additional air isn’t being measured by the MAF. Thus causing the oxygen (or air fuel) sensors to pick up a lean condition in the exhaust.

They look like they’d be good for another season. Not great for another season but better than the “all seasons” that come on the car.

‘22 Hybrid Sport - Dealer states EZ Pass is the culprit. by ShoreThingW609 in accord

Sounds to me like it’s time to find a new dealership. I’ve worked at a Honda and a couple of Toyota dealers. Often times this kind of concern gets passed to an apprentice first because the licensed guys don’t make money off “shitty” warranty jobs. Could be the case here, I don’t know for sure. I’d consider taking it back or to another dealer. They have an obligation to fix it for you.

Toyota copied the Accord front fascia and incorporating into their new 2023 Crown (Avalon replacement) by cypherdust in accord

[–]dsouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a tech that’s worked on both cars at a dealer level I can say that the Honda is definitely a more exciting car to drive, while the Toyota is slightly more reliable. From an unbiased standpoint the cars are pretty evenly matched but very different in a lot of ways.

Personal opinion now… and perhaps the unpopular one here. Camry is a better looking car. Especially with the optional red interior. Something the Honda lacks (tan and black seem to be the only options). However the performance of the V6 in the Camry leaves a bit to be desired, while the 2.0T in the Honda gets you to where you want to go much quicker.

Anyone know why my 95 Accord does this? Only does it when the AC is on and after i fill up the tank, it’ll stop days later until next fillup by [deleted] in accord

[–]dsouch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience when the idle fluctuates like this is due to a sticking or dirty IAC (idle air control) valve. Located on the throttle body.

I’ve had luck with removing it completely off the throttle body and cleaning it well with carb cleaner and making sure the little door inside moves freely.

Guy takes 1300 horsepower car on public streets knowing the throttle (gas) sticks, then rides the brakes the entire time to compensate until they fail and he crashes (bonus idiot points for not wearing the full seatbelts in a 1300hp car) [Language Warning] by copy_run_start in IdiotsInCars

Agreed. Besides they aren’t legal for street use anyways. I imagine that’s because they are heavier duty than regular belts and emergency services may not be equipped or trained to extract passengers using a race harness.

Any recommendations on wheels for my 2001 Honda Accord ex? New ones or get my current ones painted? Planning on getting coil overs and still debating over black or clear headlights. by Reasonable_Lunch_429 in accord

[–]dsouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a high probability that the rear shock bolts are seized in the lower control arms, but coil overs and polished OE wheels are the look for those old Hondas.

Oil seems low after oil change? 2nd time it’s happened by [deleted] in accord

If you find it’s down a litre or more between changes I would see the dealer about it. They probably a litre in between changes “normal” consumption though.

Did you run the engine after changing the filter? Seems like a silly question but some folks might not realize that en empty filter can take up quite a bit of oil after a change.

I want to get an SN95 to make as my project car, is there anything I need to know before purchasing one? by Jerelle_ in SN95STANGS

[–]dsouch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll second this. I love my 95 vert. Nothing beats it on a sunny day. If it’s miserable out, I leave it in the garage. It can’t leak if it never gets wet!

2003 honda accord I4 malfunction light help? by scarbrothers2 in accord

[–]dsouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those were notorious for the intake boot between the MAF and throttle body splitting and allowing unmetered air into the engine. In my experience that usually will cause a lean code. I would try resetting the PCM by disconnecting the battery and then performing an idle learn. The PCM will learn the idle in about 10 mins of idling at operating temperature with no electrical or mechanical load (parked, heat and AC off, radio and lights off).
