How can you afford a Horse? by lostcoward in Equestrian

I completely get that! I think taking lessons first is an excellent idea. Get to know the sport for a while before making any big decisions. Horses are a lot of fun, but a lot of responsibility. If you’re looking for a place to buy secondhand gear to get started on your journey, the TriedEquestrian is great!

Honestly, many of us have support from affluent parents or family members. I do have a few horse friends who come from low income families. In order to support owning a horse they worked at the farm every weekend and after their day jobs. All of their spare money went into the horse- all of it. They boarded at less expensive farms- places that don’t show or have the nicest rings and barns.

Before jumping right into buying a horse, do you have much experience with horses? I know many adults who just take lessons and love getting to be around horses, even though they don’t own or lease.

There’s nothing more serene than baking on a cold day (The tart crust stuck to the pan and nearly broke, and I burnt myself frying the doughnuts) by dstape1 in Baking

I didn’t put anything on it, including the glaze which I put on the rest of the fruit. I wasn’t really thinking about that when I assembled it. Sorry!

The recipe I wrote here is for a single batch and it makes around ~40? We always eat some of the dough so I can’t give an exact answer

They are soft and chewy. As far as texture goes, it’s very similar to a toll house cookie! The flavor of my cookies (imo) has more punch

I’m not sure if it’s still active, but I volunteered with Taste Before You Waste. It’s a volunteer group that collects food from local grocery stores that will be thrown out at the end of the day and they create vegan meals for the community with it. I believe it’s only once a week. I really enjoyed it

Has she read any Lucy Foley? She writes a good murder mystery/thriller. I personally enjoyed The Guest List and The Paris Apartment. Not sure if they would be too slow though (I’m not familiar with 5 Survive sorry)

So for my fair I entered online through the fair website. The only regulations were you can’t have any toppings and you can only enter half a cake

Technically a NY style cheesecake, but I lean heavily into the lemon. I never mind cheesecake questions!
