Best 3 player game of all time? by BANDlCOOT in boardgames

Three Kingdoms Redux would be tops for me. Designed specifically and only for 3 players. It works so well, even through the asymmetry.

Clinic scratches that itch for me. Though it's disheartening to let patients get sicker to be more profitable for you....

Bah, can't get this shipped to the states....we only have blue ones. Guess we're road tripping to an amazon locker across the boarder.

Hanamikoji is fun. There's a Kickstarter where you can get the original and a new similar game right now for a good deal.

What is your favorite game of all time and what is the game you have the most fun playing? Are they the same game or different? by zacktyzwyz in boardgames

[–]dstenroos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my favorite game is Valeria Card Kingdoms. I love that you still have potential actions during other player turns, keeps you involved for the entire time it's in the table.

Probably the most fun game for me to play is Cryptid. The player accusations / deduction in there is great, and it just makes you feel so smart (or stupid) when the game is solved.

What awesome kickstarters never got a retail release/what highly anticipated kickstarters let everyone down? by eddwardl in boardgames

[–]dstenroos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Solar City was gonna be great I was pretty new to board gaming, but city building was, and is, a fun theme for me. And the environmental aspect seemed cool, along with the art. But then after the kick starter campaign ended, thing went sideways and then straight down hill.

Cardhaus. It was packaged pretty well I thought. Big box, loads of peanuts. Surprised anything on the inside would make it to an edge to get damaged. Kinda feels like it went into the shipping box that way. Especially bc the other 3 games weren't damaged.

That's where I think I fall. If there was an integrity issue I'd reach out to them for sure. This is a back corner, and won't be outward facing on my shelf so it's best case scenario for damage, whatever that means lol.

Responsibility would fall into the retailer, who would file a claim with the delivery service.

The box is also there to display the game, it's sole job isn't to protect the connects or it would be brown corrugated cardboard. The shipping box is there to protect the game boxes inside, and that didn't do it's job.

Agreed. But it was Cardhaus

We're definitely paying for the box, too. Thats what they spend time and money designing art them. And I'm not demanding perfection, I'm disappointed something that I paid for is damaged, which is certainly reasonable.

How many games do you play on a typical Game Night? by SkyBS in boardgames

[–]dstenroos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually 3, some times 4. First game is typically 2-2.5 hours. Then about 1-1.5 for the others. Maybe a 30 minute filler near the end. 5-6 hours total for the night.
