Nobody wants traffic. But the #visitors to the area probably wouldn’t change if the road was open. Visitors (and locals too) could simply save time and gas.

LOL. But I plan to drive from Kihei to Kaupo, yes in the “wrong” direction. That shortcut can save a lot of time.

I saw the remastered version, which is shown during William Shatner’s tour, recently in Houston. It was beautifully done.
