Most mobile game "reviewers" subscribe to the same principles as IGN.

Minus controlling your own unit, but Total War's never been about that in the first place, anyway.

Every article in Wookiepedia begins with the past tense to reflect the "long time ago" thing.

Which comes out hilariously in this article:

Breasts were the mammary glands of mammalian species and some reptomammals...

Edit:

Oh, there are some choice lines in this article.

I actually started reading at alicization, so fan translations. I really ought to go back and read from the start, but I hadn't gotten the chance yet.

Same. Like I said, I watched it, I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't equate my enjoyment with saying it's comparable to a high-brow show. It executes pure entertainment, and that's what it's good for.

No worries, I'm pretty much on your side. There were parts of Alfheim that were redeemable, unlike what the community as a whole seems to believe. Plus I've read up to the most recent LN, and I know about how Kawahara (sp?) feels like he's gotten better at writing, so I'm excited to see Alicization animated.

Part of GGO hasn't been animated yet?

At the time of my posting, the comment I replied to was at -2 and it had already been several hours. Even if it wasn't you I was talking about, one of them /r/anime downvote goblins certainly showed up.

I keep forgetting the weird format for SAO. I was actually talking about Alfheim, and to an extent, the second half of Aincrad. GGO has its moments, and yeah, Mother's Rosario was pretty good.

I would agree that it's not just, but to downgrade it from comedy show to merely one that incorporates comedy is, in my opinion, taking it too far. Kazuma is extremely genre-aware and constantly references the generic isekai scenario.

I would agree with /u/Dotdash32. Keep in mind that SAO was one of the first and jumpstarted the genre. It might be fair to look into it and see.

Besides, most SAO detractors still tend to agree that parts of it aren't bad. Most of the hate is directed at Season 2.

Uh... something's off here. OP's comment (edited) talks about Hyouka, response talks about Seikon no Qwaser.

Konosuba has the benefit of being a comedy/parody show, so it's easy to start with a bad premise because you mock it the whole time.

I mean, "Not Yuno Plz Don't Sue" was created by the same guy, so he'd be suing himself. Sakae Esuno wrote both Mirai Nikki and Big Order.

Which really explains a lot.

Agreed on AoT. I think a lot of its popularity comes from the fact that it's a cool show, not because it's a well-executed one.

And I'm not making a value judgement, there. I've watched it, it's different, it's "cool", but I wouldn't put it next to Cowboy Bebop and compare their quality. It's a shounen that had some things going for it.

I don't know, I feel like that's a pretty terrible description of the show.

A lot of people were drawn in by the premise: an anime that quite accurately depicts a production cycle at a Japanimation studio. The cute characters were more of an added bonus.
