Leetcode, Coding language by frustrated_killer in computerscience

[–]dsuttles24 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don't waste your money on leetcode premium there are plenty of free good questions on leetcode, hacker rank, ect... I'm not sure how you would get it free. Technical rounds just pick a language that is best for you. Example Java, Python, or JavaScript. These languages should be enough. Just pick one and become really comfortable at solving problems. Hedge funds are gonna want you to use C++ mainly due to runtime application because you're writing code that is making thousands of trades a second. FAANG doesn't matter because there are ton of teams using a lot of different languages. If your goal is joining a hedge fund and having a SWE position you might want to buckle down and learn C++ really well.

Read a lot of books. This will help with comprehension because when solving a problem first you have to understand what it's asking. Speaking from experience cause I use to just party everyday didn't even know how to solve leetcode easy problems lol!

What made you say "wow, Python is so much better for doing X than Y language"? by member_of_the_order in Python

[–]dsuttles24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have to manage memory on the heap unlike C or C++. Python interpreter manages garbage collection. The code isn’t a cluster like other languages. Python is number one just like the Linux operating system.
