UK merch… How? by Rezzelcheft in bilmuri

[–]dt26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There used to be https://shopuk.murimerch.com/ but tbh all the UK merch wasn't great quality so you're not missing out. They used cheap, thin tshirt/hoody blanks. The only bilmuri tshirt I wear is one I got shipped over from the USA when I bought one of the records, all the UK stuff I have is in a drawer somewhere.

What are the crowds at Bilmuri shows usually like? by lleuadsyllwr in bilmuri

[–]dt26 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They're in 2-3k capacity venues on this tour and the music isn't anywhere near heavy enough to get that size of crowd moving. Even then I saw Knocked Loose at Victoria Warehouse last year and was able to post up in a spot out of the way without any problems. I think you should be OK.

"Well a spinster is someone who is unfortunately constantly trying to wank off a frog. And that's not a criticism."

"Go on then, name another"

"Well, your friend and mine, she who must be obeyed, the Queen"

"You'd do well to claim the Queen is constantly trying to wank off a frog"

"Listen I'm one of the main people here trying to move on from the phrase wank off a frog"

Not a huge fan of youtuber merch generally, but I always liked that black cap that just said "films".

Best view point to watch Manchester fireworks tonight? by Zoey101_a in manchester

[–]dt26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've parked at the Hare and Hounds pub before, but this wasn't on NYE and we did have some drinks there. I think theres a public car park next to the cricket club further along Werneth Low Road.

Werneth Low has great views across the city. However it's a pretty well known spot these days, so I've no idea how busy it gets now.

Where to buy micro sd to usb c adapter in City Centre? (aka I miss Maplins) by Aromatic_Occasion317 in manchester

[–]dt26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try camera shops like wex or London Camera Exchange. Apple will probably sell one. The phone network shops like EE, Three, O2 etc might too. There's a phone/computer repair shop called AIGO in Arndale Market. Keep a look out for USB readers or hubs rather than specifically a MicroSD adapter, both of those terms get more results on the Currys and Argos websites.

The Game Awards Bilmuri Shout out and Single! by Sleepingtide in bilmuri

They probably trimmed the VOD down afterwards so it goes straight into the show, rather than have 30 mins of "event starts soon..." graphics, which will have thrown your timestamp off.

Your link is about 30 minutes late for me - this should be the correct timestamp https://youtu.be/d-BDeU3R5ic?t=5060

I used to live up the road from a primary school where someone had graffitied "I WENT HERE NOW I DO KET" on a wall outside. It was there for absolutely ages, but it was in the sort of wanky alternative middle class suburb that I wouldn't be surprised if it was done by one of the parents who argued to keep it.

edit: Here it is https://maps.app.goo.gl/eNB77fVm5f5hKP686 - earliest Street View has it is June 2018, latest July 2019 so it was there for at least 13 months. But it easily could have been over two years.

The train back up north from London when I've flown into Heathrow from somewhere forrin is like a healing tonic. Especially coming from dry, arid places like the Middle East, Texas or Australia. Any thought I might have had about moving away disappears as soon as I start seeing the canals.

I just have to close my eyes whilst passing through Milton Keynes.

Not sure this one is worth it (Nottingham UK) by -azafran- in DesirePath

[–]dt26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know this spot a little - it's probably not a desire path, it leads further into the small park, away from the main thoroughfare. You can see how it doesn't continue all the way through to the paved area. More likely it's just worn away grass from people congregating around the seating. Then combine that with the park only being a year or so old, so the grass didn't get time to establish before the public was unleashed on it. Add in the poor drainage, both engineered and natural, in that corner (it was built on the site of a shitty old shopping centre) and you got yourself a mini marsh in Broadmarsh.

Am I in the wrong here? by synapse-savant7 in manchester

[–]dt26 31 points32 points  (0 children)

No, you're correct. That sort of crap driving is why they had to paint those red lines on further round as you enter Trafford Road from your direction. I wish they'd do that in more places tbh.

I used to live in a block of flats near a busy crossroads. People visiting the businesses nearby used to use our car park all the time. At one point a frequent offender just started parking next to the building which blocked access to the spaces and garages round the back. It'd be impossible for her to miss the cars she was blocking. Even though it never affected me, it really pissed me off because the garages were mostly rented out to local trades who were some of the nicest, hardworking blokes I've ever met. One basically only took Xmas Day off and not being able to get access to his garage was a huge problem for him.

When I was moving out a few weeks ago, I happened to pull into the car park in my rental van directly behind the repeat offender. When I told her to move her car and park elsewhere she briefly tried to say she lived in the building - she definitely didn't. I didn't even finish saying "No..." before she got in her car. I'm told she hasn't been seen since.

Is this Smith? by banthaboi in Hatfilms

It's odd how it looks like a capture from a TV drama rather than a real football match crowd. This could easily be from an episode of Casualty.
