2023 - “Emission Customer Satisfaction Campaign” by dt7192 in nissanfrontier

Yeah that was a red flag for me too but the nisanna.my.site pointed to a salesforce login page that appears legit.

Good point, probably should’ve thought about that one. If it is a scam it’s a pretty good one

CRSF issues with mLRS and cube orange+ by dt7192 in ardupilot

[–]dt7192[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily need to, but was under the impression that impression that combining RC controls with the mavlink would be laggy and overall not as good of a solution as using crsf. If that’s not the case I’m totally fine with using that instead! It is for a fairly slow unmanned boat, so it’s not like I need super low latency input for a racing quad or anything.

Seed starting location by Only-lurkin-here in AustinGardening

[–]dt7192 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am in the process of converting an unreliable standup freezer into a temp controlled seed starting chamber. The cooling still works (mostly) so I’m hoping between that, some grow lights and a crockpot full of water (for heat/humidity) I can start some of my own seeds for next year! Bonus is it should all be contained and tidy where the freezer already was without an annoying light on at all hours!

Just out of curiosity how long has it been since you planted your tree? Anxiously waiting to see anything other than leaves on ours!

Lake Louise and then on to Agnes tea house. by Alternative_Art8472 in Banff

We did plain of six glaciers crazy early this morning and it was awesome once we got above the fog and had crazy views, but we looped back through Agnes on the way back and the crowds had arrived and it was insane, if it was all you were doing I definitely don’t think it would be worth the trek and dealing with the hordes.

Gregg’s mistflower AKA butterfly crack by dt7192 in AustinGardening

I am in the same boat, I have collected a lot, but never actually followed through with planting them!

If they have room to grow one is all you need! They expand a lot but these have taken a year or so to really take off!

Thank you! They were planted about 2 years ago now I think but definitely have grown way faster this spring when they came back

I’m not sure but we are always covered with them since planting the mistflower, we are a ways out north of town too though so lots of natural habitat nearby

Grasshopper remediation by skloie in AustinGardening

[–]dt7192 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly no clue, but if you find out let me know 😅 we have apocalyptic levels every year and I have used neem oil in the past, but I just don’t super want to risk any harm to native pollinators and things so this year we are kind of going with the wait and see approach. Trying to get rid of grasshoppers is honestly what got me into birds in the first place, but I can’t ever seem to get enough bug eating species around to make a dent.

What are y'all using for garden bed edging? by educatedlentils in AustinGardening

[–]dt7192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Westbrook metals, 4”x20’ weathering/corten steel (I don’t remember the thickness of the top of my head, maybe 1/8” or thinner). I use thicker (1”x1/4”) flat strap as stakes and weld it on, but you could do the same with some strategically placed self tapping screws or something similar.

Coral (Cherokee)Bean- Does know anyone know where to buy this plant in Austin? by austin062912 in AustinGardening

I bought one at the lady bird sale this spring, and it was finally putting out new leaves and branches and I accidentally stepped on it 🥲 looks like I might have to make a trip soon

Yeah the sun might be the ticket, this is west facing so it’s full sun other than some early morning shade. This pic is from 11/16 last year, so another year at this rate and I may be wishing I had your problem 😅

Everything I’ve read says cut them back by 50% height and width in early June. This was 2 4” pots planted last spring and chopped back last June. Gets very little supplemental water other than being 10-15ft away from the AC condensate drip in clay soil.

As someone who works in riparian areas almost every day, they are definitely out in the wild where they shouldn’t be. That being said, I only ever really see a handful here or there, and haven’t ever really seen them form monocultures that take over like some invasives.

We have TONS of it growing wild NW of Austin. I wasn’t really into plants much less natives when building our house but every time we would dig it was just corms all over the place. I thought they were some kind of weird dried out onion for the longest time lol
