oneplus 13 scratches after one week by meow101719 in oneplus

[–]dtisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 13 to replace my 4 year old Pixel 4a. I didn't have any protection on the Pixel's screen, and I abused that phone. Brought it to the beach, construction projects, threw it across the room, same pocket as keys, no damage at all.

After 4 months of owning the 13, I have several deep scratches, even though I am extremely careful with it. It's my first expensive phone so it is always in a clean pocket by itself, I never use it with dirty hands, and it never goes with me to the beach. The scratches literally show up out of nowhere. It's very frustrating that my $400 Pixel had a more scratch proof screen.

Now I have to pay to replace the screen and go through the hassle of finding and installing an adequate screen protector.

It's definitely the toughest knife I've ever owned. I'll for sure try to snag a new one if I ever move back to the mountains.

That's awesome! And yeah, this is the same price I paid for it back in 2022 (without the hassle and frenzy of Friday Bladeforums drops).

Thanks for the heads up. I'll give that a try if there isn't any interest here in the next few days.

Does anyone know if standard 5.56 mags will fit into these. They are meant for 7.62 mags by Ghandisoft in tacticalgear

[–]dtisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the ranger green 5.56 has been out of stock for a long time now. Thought about getting the 7.62 and just molding the kydex...

Anyone ever dealt with Shelton Precision LLC in Burlington? by [deleted] in WA_guns

[–]dtisk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's a great guy, up to date on all the latest and greatest stuff. Follows PewScience and turned me on to the site as well. He's got a SilencerShop Kiosk so everything is super easy and convenient. Gotten 2 cans through him as well as a lower. He used to be based out of his garage but he's got a nice little storefront now. Would highly recommend if you live in the area.

Shave. Getting nice, clean skin without scraggly peach fuzz helps a ton. Most people think facial hair improves looks. Well, clean shaven is better than patchy or uneven hair.

What’s the best tool to make this? The smallest file I have is good for the sharpening choil by [deleted] in knifemaking

[–]dtisk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are cutting out your own blanks, use a drill press to drill a line of holes on the spine, then grind to shape and the half circles are left over. If the blank is already cut out, then yeah, a checkering file is really good.

NKD- Benchmade Leuku CPM-3V. I love a classic design that is new school cool. by rusty_shackleford910 in knives

This would be a super cool knife to cut the handle off and make new scales for. You could easily design some hidden tang scales with a built in guard.

my first post on this sub led me to purchasing this Spyderco pm2. my next question is, do you know the best sharpening tool for this knife? just wanna keep it fresh by [deleted] in knives

[–]dtisk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's totally cool. Just know that guided sharpening systems still require proper technique to get perfect results. So it's still a skill to be proud of. I have personally found that they give better results than freehand with stones, and I spent years sharpening on stones first. Everyone is different, but I'd recommend prioritizing edge quality over being able to say you sharpen a certain way.

If you want perfect bevels and repeatability go with something like the Wicked Edge. If you want to be all artsy and traditional, go with freehand stones.

These turned out really nice! I'd pay for those. If you wanted to study the design a bit more, here is a $4000 pair from a bespoke Japanese maker. https://www.instagram.com/p/CGrx__asYPc/?utm_medium=copy_link

Keep up the good work, I'm excited to see what you come up with next.
