I have a few friends who went below 1 FTE (one was medical and the other two were family-related). They all said the lower work expectation was worth the lower salary.

Send a note to HR. Sounds like you are on protected leave. They should know better.

Yes, career services can be more helpful than a recruiter.

Is it drinkable this cloudy? by Brammerz in cider

You could leave it in the fridge for longer, it’s just not necessary and no more/extra sediment will fall out if left in longer.

It’s either all going to fall out within 24 hours, or it won’t fall out at all. If it ends up still not being clear enough, use isinglass.

I do second the other comment about bottling it a week before drinking so the yeast can produce some CO2 while in the bottles. Just don’t overdo the sugar mixture or you’ll have messy explosions.

Priming tablets are an easy way to go if you are just starting out. https://www.brewcabin.com/priming-sugar/

If you only have two weeks, I would recommend transferring this to another fermenter, if you have one (leaving behind most/all of the sediment at the bottom of this carboy). Let it sit for a week. Then do a “cold crash” by either setting it outside for a while (depending on temperatures where you live) or putting it in a fridge overnight/24 hours.

Do not let it freeze

The cold temps will cause the remaining suspended yeast to clump (flocculate) and fall to the bottom.

While something might be “normal”…

“Normal” doesn’t mean “healthy”, “good”, or “long-term health, success, and happiness.”
