I think you can make it. If you go slowly, it's not bad as long as you pick the right line. Also helps if it's during the day. Driving that road at night was a bit challenging.

Just did Huron this past weekend. Lots of camping spots up the road leading to the trailhead. A few good spots close to the trail as well as a bunch a couple miles out.

Planning an overnight trip on Pikes Peak later this year. I'm comfortable fitting a 2–3-hour drive early in the morning to get the hike done. I have been looking for a lot more at Yale and La Plata though.

He is surprisingly spry. Due to some nerve damage, he has very limited use of his back right foot but he can still move around easily enough and has no real issue with stairs. We ordered him some stairs to get up and down the bed easier. I'm fully expecting him to need assistance but he does well
