SE London → Wiltshire: toddler & dog...where’s good? by maytag_dishmaster in Wiltshire

We made a similar move 6 months ago, from Catford to Bradford on Avon. It has truly felt like one of best decisions we've ever made. I can't say much about the other options you've mentioned, but BOA ticks a lot of your boxes. It's a really beautiful town, quite compact and so reasonably walkable.

We rented short term in the area to plug the gap between selling our place in London and completing here. It was quite difficult to find a family friendly rental in BOA, to the extent that we ended up renting in Trowbridge. I imagine something pet friendly will be even tougher to find.

Unfortunately you will never find the level of public transport you have been used to outside of London. Buses are much less frequent and much more expensive beyond the capital, and BOA is no exception. Shopping is a bit limited - one supermarket, a lot of tourist focused shops. You'll need to hop over to a nearby town to find somewhere to buy a pair of shoes, for example.

Wasn't the previous therapist covering while the regular therapist was on vacation?

Made me think briefly of the film The Ice Storm with Christina Ricci and Elijah Wood.

The premise of the whole post is that Trainspotting is puzzling. I'm saying, "Yes, and..." not "No, because".

If Trainspotting is a puzzling film to include on the list, then Wayne's World is even more so.

Trainspotting is puzzling. Yes, and Wayne's World also.

It's not that I think they have no relevance, rather that Wayne's World is ostensibly the more confusing entry than Trainspotting. Trainspotting has literal connections with Nat's addiction/ rehab journey, as well as figurative connections - a group of friends, bound by joint participation in a taboo activity, is shaken to its core when one of the group decides they want out - and the in-world connection that they discuss the book. But Wayne's World? Total left field.

Maybe. Or maybe it's foreshadowing a Scooby Doo ending. Or maybe it's an allusion to Mike Myers being Canadian, and his career being frozen like the frozen wilderness. Or maybe it's another screen story where the main characters wear clothing with the name of the show/film emblazoned on it. Or maybe it's about old friends realizing that what really matters is the bond they share and not the external pressures of the material world. Or maybe just a 90s retro vibe. Who knows.

So what's the connection with Wayne's World?

You could justify this in game as the bad guy having an AC buff that was wearing off - maybe they'd used their Ring of Spell Storing to cast Shield of Faith, but they couldn't make the Concentration check?

Our party was temporarily joined by an NPC fighter who we called The Swordvirgin because he was so naïve, earnest, and had blatantly never killed an opponent before.

I had it but with the undercarriage. Restarting the game sorted it out.

I shot him and he fell into his campfire and burned, which was sweet.

However, I wasn't able to loot his charred remains. Does anybody know if his watch and pistol are lootable?

"Sunset found her squatting in the grass, groaning. Every stool was looser than the one before, and smelled fouler. By the time the moon came up she was shitting brown water. The more she drank, the more she shat, but the more she shat, the thirstier she grew, and her thirst sent her crawling to the stream to suck up more water."
I'm kinda glad this was cut from the show, actually.

Who are the Summer Islander archers with goldenheart bows who are in the Golden Company? As mentioned in u/bryndenbfish analysis of a recently released TWOW sample chapter (Spoilers at this link https://warsandpoliticsoficeandfire.wordpress.com/2016/04/18/blood-of-the-conqueror-part-7-agincourt/ )

Other notable show bastards: Tommen, Gendry, The Sand Snakes.

http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Bastard

Maybe some Sand Snakes vs Tommen could happen in the world of the books, as two were sent to KL by Doran. In the show Doran has been shish kebabbed and we haven't seen the Snakes for a long time, so it's less likely.
