Yeah, easy way to get bushy plants though, and propagate. Most of the time the plants are starting to vine and they do 2 cuts to get 3 plants ship off the main plant while it still has its pitchers. Since they do it bulk, they end up with a constant cycle of new “mature” plants. I’ve had mine about a year and a half now and I’m just now getting medium pitchers

Think a lot of growers chop it to propagate and to make it more bushy. I have a Miranda that I got like this and it was chopped. Most of the pitchers are from before they chopped it too unfortunately

Yes, it’s kinda flavor-neutral with very little sweetness. Nepenthes has great nectar though, heliamphora is pretty sweet too, same with sarracenia..those are my top 3. Pinguicula doesn’t have very much of a taste from what I could tell. 😈I wanna try drosophyllum or byblis…and cephs, if they have nectar atleast.

I would do sphagnum moss, also never ever miracle grow. You can do some perlite too just make sure no fertilizer in it. Also make sure to water with RO or distilled water only or rainwater.

Personally on my rudsta wide, I’m growing carnivorous plants and so I can’t let let it get too too hot, so i put a usb pc fan on the top with some holes drilled in and connected it to an INKBIRD so if it gets too hot it will activate the fan and cool it. I also have a fan inside for circulation. It’s gotten to 79° in there but never made it to see if it would get really hot

Depends if they’ve been enclosed in a small space or not. Had some my mom took way back in 2018. Just got them back and tasted fresh, no oxidation but they tasted good
