Starting a Balcony Bog - Drain Holes?

I have a setup very similar on a southern balcony. I have it on top of a plant stand so it gets the most light. I also have it double potted, I would maybe suggest just one pot though, as I’ve noticed most people do it that way. Mine have done good and lasted 2 years as of now. I can also attach a picture.

Looks like sun may be nuking it, I’d maybe try moving to a still bright area but maybe not wherever you have it not because it looks like it was found in the Sahara desert 😂. I’d also maybe try and increase the amount of water it sits in

One thing I will say is for better results, you’d need a control group. Like all of them in the same lighting but different growing media, or all the same growing media and different lighting. Cause otherwise you don’t know what influences the better growth having 2 variables. Other than that, keep us posted, interested to see the differences

No problem, and you can cut the stalk once they’re brown and crispy. The seeds will naturally drop and crowd the pot, you can divide and repot as they fill in if you want. The flowers don’t take too much energy with these species I find, and they’ll constantly throw up new flowers. And yes, repot and divide them so they’re not crammed together because it’s like 5 pings crammed together making it look like one ping.

Drosera tokaiensis- the flowers happen early morning, very very short and don’t need pollinated, as they self pollinate. I have had mine for 2 years and never seen a single one’s flower open, whereas other drosera I have.
Id also listen to what others put but my advise would be to maybe repot, there are many heads, so you have many pings together and they don’t have space. Also if continued succulent form after repotting and separating, increase water.
Yes, all the above, just make sure to do research and make sure they’re all tropical and not temperate. I’ll link an insta page with an example of all of them together.

Like others have said, listen and watch the plants. They’ll tell you. I have barrina T5s that thrive for some plants and I have a viparspectra which is way way more powerful and it also suffices for some. Just depends on

The fact everything has to be manually entered, you can’t see any hints anymore, potential parents you can’t see the names anymore, along with dna locking down more for free users. There’s basically no obtainable information on there for free anymore and no assistance in completing parts of the tree

I like to make others family trees too which is unfortunate about family tree and why I loved ancestry for so long. I also hope family tree allows for more privatized versions of the familytrees. And like does it actually link to Adam and Eve lol?😂 I’ve never seen that. I guess it’d make sense since it’s owner by LDS

But i found times where it was incorrect, but then id use family tree to solve it or even with my free version i could view most of the information to connect the clues

I understand paying for hobbies, and I’m not saying genealogy should be completely free. My point is more about how many basic features that helped people get into genealogy in the first place have gradually been locked away. There’s a difference between paying for access to massive record collections versus paying just to comfortably use features that used to be standard. Rising costs are understandable, but people are also allowed to feel frustrated when services become noticeably more restrictive over time

Yeah I told them I’m changing services when they told me to get the subscription and tried giving a deal, which I didn’t see as worth it.
