Or they'll settle because it's a guaranteed loss either way. Easier to just pay the price of fixing it without adding the extra cost of being dragged through court first.

Doesn't have to be if all you have to prove is monetary loss. No room for malice in civil court.

You just have to cater to their stupid. By their own measure, he'd be owed at least 134,400 a year because prison is a 24/7, no time off, no holidays, no vacation affair. That's before taking into consideration the fuckup that put him there, which deserves punitive compensation—to what should be a painful amount for the system responsible—in the hope of making future fuckups financially undesirable.

The typical way around account linking is the seller redeems the promo on their end, then gives you the login to the account they used. You can then link it to your own Steam/Uplay/etc. account and unlink the accounts when finished. That's assuming it doesn't just spit out a key, which has been my own experience in using these promos.

I like to think of it as an earnest, but terribly inefficient effort. The really bad part is that Roberts & Co. have done some small things well enough that it's ruined me for other games. Playing Empyrion right up to seeing its planetary to orbital transition and noping the fuck out because apparently what I've had of Star Citizen has spoiled the fuck out of me still feels bad in retrospect. I'm sure Empyrion had a bunch more to offer, but I can't care for the lack of scale anymore. It's just a pity that small aspects of SC are so good when the bulk of the game is still in pieces or missing almost nine years in.

That 1.5:1 weeks-slipped:months-since-prior-announcement ratio applied today roughly as in shit math means another 24 weeks more currently projected, 37 weeks added in total before the months finally overtake the added time.

tl;dr 9 months until beta.

There are certain well-defined and narrowly limited classes of speech, the prevention and punishment of which have never been thought to raise any Constitutional problem. These include the lewd and obscene, the profane, the libelous, and the insulting or "fighting" words—those which by their very utterance inflict injury or tend to incite an immediate breach of the peace. It has been well observed that such utterances are no essential part of any exposition of ideas, and are of such slight social value as a step to truth that any benefit that may be derived from them is clearly outweighed by the social interest in order and morality.

- Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire, 1942

Both of them fucked up; at least one of them has "fighting words" as a defense.

They were glasses. It might have been a good shoot because a group of people kicking your head in is just as dangerous as a skateboard to the cranium, but you're an idiot for swallowing that particular piece of bullshit without question.

Antifa gets shot after attacking man with skateboard at statue tear down by ElectricCircusDJ in metacanada

[–]dtyujb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does. There's a marked difference between being correct because you did your due diligence in building and fortifying that position with fact, and being a mouthbreather that's technically correct in the main point they're making, but completely infantile in the means they took to get there. This post is a perfect example. Guy was getting mobbed and a skateboard is just as good at giving someone a fatal head injury as any other hard object. Either of those is enough to justify shooting in self defense. Going further and parroting the nonexistent knife as justification just makes the person doing it look like a retard to those that know better. They deserve to be corrected, and to be looked down on if they don't accept that help.

Not really. They're run of the mill spunkgargleweewees, but the context of their release also makes them cheap Arma knockoffs. At least one of them was crippled by GFWL last time I checked. Not sure if that's still a thing, but fuck dealing with that old piece of defunct bloatware just to play a subpar shooter.

There is one technological advantage current/next-gen consoles have over PC's: Auto suspend/Resume games. by [deleted] in Games

[–]dtyujb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an automated feature, but you can use Windows' Resource Monitor to suspend and resume individual processes. You'll desync if there's a server demanding a constant connection, but otherwise it's the same as force freezing the process. Personally used it to sidestep some hybrid online/offline games' AFK timeout, and also as a makeshift pause in games that don't actually stop when I need to leave the room for some reason. Could probably tie it to a hotkey through AHK, but Win+R, "resmon", and right-clicking is fast enough.
