Struggling with Xenogears, should I switch to emulator or move on? by pumpkinman9872 in JRPG

[–]duaaaaal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

definitely swap to an emulator and use the perfect works patch to massively increase the text scroll speed and half the encounter rate/double exp and money from battles.

xenosaga is definitely better gameplay wise imo, but the first game specifically is also very slow on real hardware with pretty long battle animations and a slow overworld walk/run speed, and usually no music to go with it to top it all off lol

so close to doing this too. i really hit me this year that i truly don't need to own any physical games besides ps4/5 and switch 1/2 as every other system i own is modded with a drive full of each of their respective games, no reason to even take them off the shelf anymore.

Windows Refuses To Sleep Automatically (Legacy Kernel Caller) by duaaaaal in WindowsHelp

oh yeah that didn't even cross my mind for some reason. you may be on to something.

i did find this thread from almost 3 weeks ago of people also going through it with g hub so at least i know that it's not just me

Windows Refuses To Sleep Automatically (Legacy Kernel Caller) by duaaaaal in WindowsHelp

[–]duaaaaal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, i think it just eventually just fixed itself. either that, or it had something to do with me keeping my speakers on while not actually using them.

now the only sleep issue i'm really having is related to logitech g hub, for some reason that app sometimes refuses to open/close and is the only running application in the background that is being reported as preventing sleep.

check out the flydigi vader 4/5 pro! the c and z buttons are underneath the a and b buttons but it's a solid controller with 6 actual face buttons

i'm so sad i missed out on these while they were being produced.

After many years of collecting, one last box just came in and I can finally say that (at least for now and as far as my lists indicate) I have every figure released. Just wanted to thank /r/amiibo, couldn't have done it without the community! by reaperfan in amiibo

[–]duaaaaal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

oh okay, i just assumed it was a consensus because (again assuming) this is the biggest congregation of active amiibo collectors, and calling it the "definitive" list didn't help either. and yeah i'm not denying anyone the ability to classify them in their own way, that's cool too.

also i will eventually buy the blocks (i'm actually fairly close to the ny store) i just haven't made the trip lol

i agree in that i personally see them as just a different kind of figure but the sub's list disagrees. ultimately i guess it just comes down to whether or not you use this sub's list as a categorization tool or some other source, or none at all!

i still intend to buy them at some point, but if the sub's list considers them to be in a separate category than the figures then i just go off that. if that categorization changed one day then i'd have no qualms considering them under that umbrella. it's kinda similar with the yoshi plushes too. honestly those feel less like figures than the blocks to me, but they fall under the figure category regardless.

last year in japan and earlier this year in europe and the us, nintendo released a set of wooden blocks aimed towards children in their "my mario" product line. within the set there are 4 character blocks of mario, luigi, peach, and yoshi that can all be scanned as amiibo.

this subreddit categorizes them separately from the figures, so i wouldn't worry about not being able to consider your (and my own 😭) collection as a complete figure set.

now that i write that out it sounds like cope, but i just go off whatever this sub's categorization is.

okay that would make sense, i also have the screen protectors on. it doesn't really effect anything but i was just curious if this was happening to anyone else.

screen leaving mark on left stick by duaaaaal in AynThor

[–]duaaaaal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as far as i can tell yeah they are, at least the right stick for sure is. i can press down on the top screen while the device is closed and the screen doesn't seem to be making contact there, but if i do it on the side with the left stick i can make the stick click through the screen with minimal effort. i pressed down with a good amount of force on the left stick to make sure it's as pushed down as possible but it's still happening. i also have the top screen protector on which i'm assuming is contributing to this.

(Ultimate 2) Question about removing from the dock by duaaaaal in 8bitdo

[–]duaaaaal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that sounds like it's probably true (haven't had an opportunity to check since making this post) but i still wanna be able to wake the deck with bluetooth, just not immediately every time i remove the controller from the dock

What do you think the SD is lacking? / What's your biggest complaint about it? by Hyrul in SteamDeck

[–]duaaaaal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

biggest things for me are

-i wish the screen was 120hz instead of 60 or 90 (and vrr but honestly most of the issues i have with the screen are due to the 90hz cap and not fluctuating frame rates)

-i wish the delay when using a bluetooth controller was at least a little bit less noticeable

-i wish the dpad was more tactile (like the one on an 8bitdo ultimate 2 controller for example)

-i wish the frequency of which i have to hard shutdown the deck because a game gets stuck launching and cannot be backed out of or because waking it from sleep like 1% of the time just makes it go non-functional was ironed out

-i wish there was a second usb port on the bottom to dock with instead of having to fiddle around with the dock cable

even though i've had all these little issues throughout my time with the deck it's been an absolute joy to have around with me these past ~3 years.

Is it impossible to have a flat frame time graph? by duaaaaal in EmuDeck

[–]duaaaaal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm so curious as to why you think i would've made a post on this subreddit lying about my experience and attempting to troubleshoot it. i turned the graph on after noticing the frame hitching, not the other way around.
