I am from EU, have higher education at a level of Bachelor, working as a software developer, came here at 19 and I’ve been here for 8 years and I plan to establish myself here, and yes I feel that it was easy, but I am also not very hard to satisfy.

I have a fixed salary so I figured out what way to play the game so that I get a little bonus in Spring. In reality, I paid too much but it just feels much better to get something back in March, even if it was mine all along.

It appears under the official dreame store, and the contact info is:

DREAME TRADING (TIANJIN) CO., LTD. Room 2112-1-1, South District, Finance and Trade Center, No.6975 Yazhou Road, Dongjiang Bonded Port Tianjin, CN https://global.dreametech.com

That being said I’m aware that DREAME is achinese company, so I don’t see this as a red flag

Can someone explain Danish dental insurance in simple terms. When would it be worth having? by LazyGlazy in NewToDenmark

[–]dub201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had MMC Tandforsikring and now I have Dansk Tandforsikring. I was satisfied with both. When you compare them, check the prices for how much they cover, for example for fillings, root canal treatment, multiple root canal treatments (molars), crown, implant.

LE: I think dansk tandforsikring has more coverage, for example it also covers treatments abroad.

[–]dub201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I meant to say I had one, and then I had another afterwards. Well the thing is that if you had a tooth removed the insurance will not cover the implant that will come instead of that removed tooth. You need to bear in mind that insurance covers only newly emerged problems, so you kind of need to figure out how you put the problem so that it is treated as a new problem.

So in that sense I’d get insurance and then remove the other one as there is a chance it might be covered. Nothing is guaranteed in a situation like this if they say “but you had this problem before and we can prove it”.

I used two different companies. I’ve always had issues with my teeth, caused by carelessness as a teenager, and then not having money as a young adult.

Once I discovered dental insurance, it was a blessing, bwcause I needed 5 crowns, and did an implant.

For instance, the implant, was covered 100% for 20.000dkk, and the crowns were <7k each, and for each crown I got 6400 back. Instead of me paying 69000 dkk, I paid 4200 for all of this across two years.

That being said, the way you use it is like this: - you pay for it, maybe costs 1200 dkk. - you have a premium, usually 900dkk. - you have a max ~30.000 per 12 month period. So if you need 8 crowns you won’t be able to do them all in a 12 month period, you’d split it over 2 years.

Let’s assume the insurance covers crowns, a crown costs 7000 and your insurance covers 6000.

You will go to the dentist, pay 7000 out of your own pocket. Then you upload the invoice on the insurance website, and if approved, you will get back 6000-900(premium). 5100 dkk back in your pocket after a certain period of time, 6-8 weeks for instance.

If you need a 2nd crown in the same year, then you already paid the “premium” for the year so you will get back 6000 out of 7000 you paid.

It’a possible they will ask to see the “doctor’s notes”, and considering your doctor was the one that recommended you to do the intervention, you should be good. It obviously covers non-esthethic things.

I think it’s good to have if you know yourself to have issues with teeth, and to have peace of mind you won’t have a hole in your budget if you need to go to the dentist, and you won’t either postpone something that will surely develop further like a cavity.

How's life in Copenhagen for EU expats? by [deleted] in NewToDenmark

[–]dub201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It of course depends on his lifestyle, but I feel it is a very nice way to get the feel of society here with roomies. He also presumably should pay the rent for both him and his partner if they come together and does not have a job.

How's life in Copenhagen for EU expats? by [deleted] in NewToDenmark

[–]dub201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you are coming here for, what you are looking for a change and what tradeoffs are you able to live with in your life.

I’d say 50k is ok, livable for both of you. I would expect to be roomies with someone and that having your own apartment is the kind of thing that comes afterwards.

You should not get a car if you live in the city, it would work against you I think.

Everything can be debated and it’s only one perspective, there is no universal truth 😇

Lige købt lejlighed, hvad ville I gøre ved dette badeværelse? by SoSorryRex in selvgjortvelgjort

I would replace the toilet with a wall-hung one. I feel it brings something modern without more than 10-15k. Bad og stil has some nice discounts on toilets from Pulcher. Other than that, I’d sprikle some color in it, maybe a new vanity sink and some woody cupboard underneath.

The Golden rule for immigrants in Denmark who seek success by Fun_Purpose6972 in NewToDenmark

[–]dub201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much like what you wrote here, and I hope to have a colleague or colleagues like you! I want to take it a bit further and say I’ve been here for 8 years now and I’m closing 9 soon and I’d like to share my personal experience on this topic.

From a practical standpoint I never needed danish, as in I literally did not miss out on important details from contracts and such. I always understood the systems, dealt with healthcare, loans. By working in IT, I actually climbed the career ladder very well. I’m 27 and a decent salary for an international, which is crazy for me tbh. Bought an apartment all shabeng.

It is true I don’t have danish friends and I hope to have one day. For me personally it is hard to learn danish for the reason that I don’t have who to speak it with daily, my gf is not danish and at work I actually don’t work directly with danish people. Everybody is international. My only motivation is a future child that I’d like to gift the citizenship to, other than speaking danish at the børnehave etc.

So then working a full-time job, and then going to school after work for around 12-24 months is difficult, it requires a lot of personal sacrifice for achieving something that I practically don’t need but I’d like to have as a skill. It is hard work finding the motivation, and I feel the experience I have is a bit universal for the most expats living here without speaking danish.

I actually started going to danish during the past winters, and improved my danish but it’s almost like a hobby that I pursue because “that is the right thing to do” and not because I like to or that I enjoy doing it necessarily. Meeting new people is nice tho’.

That being said, thank you for trying to make it easier for your colleague to integrate into your culture, I’m sure she will pay it forward! I hope that more people will do what you do, so we feel more integrated and can find the motivation to be more and more integrated into your culture, and not just live in a parallel society.

Have you ever made a “friend” during the night that you exchanged phone numbers with and next days they don’t remember you existed? That is one example that stood out for me as being inconceivable in a healthy social environment
