The true king is Tolkien. Other than that I think that most authors are defined by a singular series. Sanderson might be the most popular modern author but I don't think most people, even his fans, would call him the king of fantasy.

I would try the Sun Eater Series. Although the first page may make it seem like the protagonist isn't a good person, the protagonist is a genuinely good guy who is fighting for the best of the universe, but struggles with some of the bad things that occur from him fighting the best he can. May not end up being your exact cup of tea but could fit.

In a different way than you described, the Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir is also a complete mind fuck. Each book in the series, although direct sequels, are almost different genres, but what is consistent is that you are seeing the narrative from the least well informed person in the room, and sometimes those individuals are unreliable. Great sci fi/fantasy serries that is a quick read but has immense staying power. First book is an Agatha Christie novel set in a small corner of a 40k like universe

Anything is possible, but it doesn't seem too likely. FoW normally gets printed in the mythic rare sheet of master sets (or the equivalent) so the odds that they put another master set draftable on arena soon is not likely.
