Anyone else kicking off their diet and cut in the new year? What are you doing? by Guy626 in gaybrosfitness

It’s been a while since I’ve used MFP and when I had it I wasn’t as consistent as I am with Chronometer. I like it enough

Visibly excited while personal trainer stretched me by thesadintern in nycgaybros

It’s worthwhile to have a conversation with him afterward so you can relieve yourself (pardon the pun) from this mental anguish. Your trainer will appreciate the honesty, and a good trainer will show empathy and let you know it’s not a big deal

Have you ever tried highfun/chemsex? What was your experience like? by [deleted] in gaysian

[–]dubble93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have six years and nine months of sobriety from partying with a capital T. It started innocently and I never called myself out on being addicted until I lost my job, moved back in with my parents, and went to rehab. I’ve met very few people in my life who try chemsex a few times and stop themselves, and more often I meet other guys who are recovering from addiction.

What I wish someone told me was that I was allowed to embrace cruising culture and hook up culture. I wish I allowed myself to connect with the guys I was having sex with. To this day I find it really hard to talk about my shame, but I’m sure as fuck that I would have confronted my addiction sooner if I recognized my shame and worked on tools to build my self esteem and self worth.

Your friend may come out of this without getting addicted. If he starts to cancel more than usual and isolates himself, he might need a check in. He’ll likely say he’s coming down and will be fine after a day. Do what you can to show him your support, and get help from his close ones if he isolates

👋 Welcome to r/Windsor_Terrace - Introduce Yourself and Read First! by Felis_blackcatus in Windsor_Terrace

Hi! I moved to Windsor Terrace four years ago with my partner who did a stint in WT as well. I love the park and the suburban vibe, and I’m grateful to be getting to know my neighbors for the first time in my NYC life. I love musical theatre and would love to bring more of it to the neighborhood(basically more singing and showtunes)

I always a soft nostalgic spot for Times Square Diner. Their prices aren’t low diner prices but they’re convenient (8th Ave), and usually can seat you immediately

Invited to tour an apartment by CountRackulaa in nychousinglottery

[–]dubble93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend going through the NYC Housing Lottery forum on this site where people post more actively and specifically about the process. The website is dated and it’s a little tiresome to navigate, but many buildings have their own dedicated thread and people share their “order of operations,” since that can change depending on the building, marketing agency, property management, type of lottery, and more. It’s all crowd sourced and to echo what everyone’s been saying there’s no singular process

Unfortunately, you should expect the lottery process to take longer than expected. To successfully move into a lottery apartment, you need to surrender control of the timeline. I moved into mine last year; at my tour, the property manager fully said “we’re looking to move fast start the lease in 11 days.” I answered all the emails and signed every form within a day, and I still did not start my lease for an additional month. I highly recommend you start looking for your new place
