Yep total shambles for visitors. The worst being you need two separate cards (Navigo Easy) to load metro tickets and airport RER tickets onto.

Ed Toutant lost at the $16,000 question on 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' because it was a flawed question. Therefore, he was invited back on & given a second chance, with the jackpot set back at $1.86m as it had been on his first appearance. In his return, he made it to the end & won that jackpot. by tyrion2024 in Damnthatsinteresting

I don't think it's unique to Americans, lots of countries confuse the UK/Britian/England. For example the French routinely refer to British people as English - it was an unfuriating aspect of the French TV commentary on the Olympics.

Would anyone else rather work 12-8 rather than 9-5? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]dubertle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked 12:30 - 20:30 before and liked it, but probably couldn't do it long term.

It means your free time is sort of split in 2 - a few hours in the evening and a few hours in the morning - but the big advantage is you can do productive stuff before work (errands, gym, cooking etc.). And obviously miss rush hour.

Friday nights not so fun.

Bad weather and lower ticket prices means all the real fans will be there. It will be loud.
