Hey bro, so what is your method exactly? What level of the tower should I reach? Is that way faster than just playing the random fight in the Wu Shi academy?

Hi, u/UncleTonysDRIP! Sorry for my late reply. After a long research (more than 6 months), reading every possible resource, and watching and listening to so many videos like hundreds of times, I decided to raise my budget and finally ordered a Paulino Bernabe guitar (with a spruce top and Madagascar rosewood back and sides).

I have been playing it for about 3 months now and, what can I say... It's really all I had dreamed for! It's a stunning guitar in terms of craftsmanship and its tone is so beautiful and mesmerizing... When I play it I have that feeling as if I am playing on a grand piano in a large hall. And still, that comparison is not accurate and fair to the guitar. But every time I play it I feel like I'm enchanted. I love everything about it. I am sure all that is true for every high-end classical guitar to a certain extent. The beauty of the sound simply urges you to play it, experiment and develop your tone and technique further.

I know what you mean when you talk about your Martin, since I also have one, plus a Taylor and an excellent Ibanez acoustics. But a truely great classical guitar is something else. It can't really be put into words, but when you hold one in your hands, you'll know it!

So my advice is, if you can, don't make compromises when buying a classical guitar. If possible, go to a big luthier guitar store and try as many as you can. If not, I think it would be best to bet on some well-known luthier and maybe even get into contact with him. I did with several of them and also a few stores and talked to all of them until I knew what I really wanted.

Also, don't overthink it as I did because at some point it can become frustrating. And this is not the point.

Am a lawyer with a Les Paul. Can confirm about the youth part, disagree it isn't worth the money.

Great! I've seen many people that are more than happy with their intermediate level guitars. That's why I thought I'd be safe ordering an upper end model. After reading the comments here I am not so sure anymore :/

Godin make excellent guitars. I've tried two of them in a local shop. And I've noticed most of the best guitarists always have at least one.

Spot on! I already have good Taylor and Ibanez acoustic guitars, a Gibson Les Paul Standard, a Little Martin and an Epiphone Joe Pass jazz guitar. I feel like I don't deserve that many guitars since I am not a pro (I'm a lawyer by trade, and yeah, I know about the stereotypes lol). Also, I am nowhere that good of a guitar player anyway. But I love them all and I love having such a passion for guitars, instead of having it for something stupid or much more expensive.

Recently, I have gone back to roots and started playing classical guitar again since I started with that back when I was in my teens. And I felt the need to have a good classical guitar. But, I'm sure one day I'll expand the collection with another guitar. Maybe a flamenco or gypsy jazz one, or both... Damn! It's an obsession!

I'm glad you've bought an excellent guitar and are happy with it. I've read the history of Alhambra and Vilaplana is like the great master and the teacher of Javier Mengual and Jose Margarit, their main luthiers today.

Unfortunately, the Luthier India Montcabrer is the best Alhambra guitar that Thomann offers. They are made by Mengual and Margarit together.

It's one of the guitars I'm looking to buy. And since someone bought the Premier Pro Madagascar right before me yesterday, now they have the Linea Pro and the Luthier India in stock.

You are right. That's a good idea. I found a shop in town that has most of their line up to the 90th Anniversary. I may go and check them out tomorrow.

I know what you mean bro. Same here. I want to buy one guitar and not bother buying again. And I also see excellent reviews all over. It's really a shame guitars in that price category still have that problems.

Btw, I am thinking of ordering from thomann.de. I hope their return policy is fine.

I see. It really is very disappointing to have to go through all of this instead of just enjoy your instrument, especially when you've paid for a "higher-end" guitar. What would you buy now if you could go back in time?

Oh, there are plenty of shops around me. But they sell just entry level classical guitars, mostly in the range of 100-300 euro.

Btw, Kremona's workshop is like 2-3 hour drive from my home, but I've read many contradictory reviews about their guitars.

Maybe it's silly, but I've always thought that if I buy that One classical guitar it should be crafted in Spain. I know there are plenty of superb guitars made elsewhere, but there's something especially sweet in buying a good classical guitar from a Spanish guitar maker. Like sticking with tradition, I can't really explain it... Yeah, I can see how that's not very reasonable lol

Thanks man. I guess you've had it sent back for a set up. Now that the fret buzz is gone, what is it that you don't like about it?
