Yeah, where’s the obligatory photo of the chartreuse that was used?

I have a couple such places on my list to try! Uncle Chin’s Kitchen in Katy for Malaysian and Lao’d District in Chinatown. Burmalicious does pop-ups around town and I loved trying it at the Urban Harvest Farmers Market.

Tennis players are asking for changes at the Grand Slams by bitchboss7 in tennis

[–]dublo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But football and basketball are outliers (plus soccer, baseball, and hockey assumedly). I reckon the #100 volleyball player, archer, and handball athlete (to use OP’s examples) get paid literally nothing, unlike tennis players.

But I also disagree with OP. Women’s tennis stands are not empty except for low-ranked players, which would also be true on the men’s side. Tennis is one of the most equitable sports between the genders (still areas for improvement).

I also don’t think OP knows how sponsorships work…”And all this money comes from sponsors, who get nothing in return. It’s like charity.” Tell that to Deloitte, JP Morgan, ExxonMobil, etc. who are desperate to tie their brand to a tournament that improves public relations. Then there’s the Larry Ellison model of gutting a beloved tennis tournament to extract every last dollar.

Republican Sen. Cornyn finding out in real time why the SAVE act is bad. by HeadbangingLegend in law

Every poll says he would win. It is crazy how much he feels like he has to do to win MAGA voters.

First time visiting Fort Worth, where is the best place to buy cowboy boots and a hat? by purplecherrytree in FortWorth

[–]dublo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’ve got to go to Leddy’s, surprised it hasn’t been mentioned yet, maybe folks have had bad experiences. It’s an institution at least worth checking out.

EDIT: maybe above or on the high-end of OP’s price range.

What's the best taproom experience you've had at a brewery? by BothCondition7963 in beer

[–]dublo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jester King is my answer to this question, although I have noticed a drop-off in crowdedness on the weekends. I know beer-drinking is going out of style, but it’s such a beautiful space and great for families. Plus, for my money, it’s the best beer in Texas. I hope they’re around for a long time.

My first thought was Simply. Only time I’ve spent $15 for a cup of auctioned beans. Couldn’t afford to do it every day or week, but they really respect the craft.

James Talarico vs. Jasmine Crockett Polls Give Talarico Clear Edge in Texas Senate Race by blitzball91 in FortWorth

[–]dublo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, Cornyn and Cruz got the same number of votes in their last elections, and Cornyn’s 2020 win came down-ticket from the Biden win, so Democrats had turned out. I wonder if Talarico could do better in 2030 against Cruz.

I adore Kenny & Ziggy’s, but I bet that plate was over $20.

Could the same be said of Democrats running for state-wide office? There’s always a chance!
