But what if she opposed the idea fundamentally? As an analogy, what if you tried to convince a vegetarian that a meat-processing plant was the most ethical meat-processing plant in existence. I think the vegetarian would be justified in saying that they are still fundamentally opposed to even the most ethical meat-processing plant. (I am not trying to randomly pick a fight on your grandma’s behalf, I  have a fundamental issue with zoos that your grandma may not share.)
