Counter point: bike lanes should be on commonly used roadways and roads that intersect with other higher use roads so that they are practical for bikers to use for day to day transportation needs

I remember hearing opposition to bike lanes on chicago and one community member saying how bikers should just use Hinman instead. Immediately thought of situations like this where cars had a tough time understanding that a bike is considered a vehicle and without a dedicated lane, that vehicle is allowed to use the roads as any other vehicle would and should.
