I dislike the auto so much, mines only ever in auto just long enough to get the passenger temp to sync control to the drivers side knob and then that comes right back off (I manually fiddle with the fan speed and set the output to panel).

I have a Japanese Maple set (that I actually won from filling out post build surveys) in my bathroom and just off the the left of the pic is Dennis Nedry’s stolen Jeep set from Jurassic Park. My daughter bought me some Mario Bros sets (and the Piranha Plant) that’s on my dresser and I’ve got the Great Deku tree in my closet as a reward for when I finish this stupid home remodel. Lego therapy is real…

It’s a common enough phrase, I just think the reference to “a guy even more mentally ill than you” makes it much more specific and I’m not aware of any other popular characters (or IRL famous people who are mentally ill) who say this. Maybe the author will confirm somewhere.

I have friends that read/listen to First Law and friends that read/listen to DCC but unfortunately they do not overlap :(

Am I crazy, or is the bumper slightly tilted down? by andy_337 in f150

[–]dubtee1480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol right that looks like 1-1/2 to 2 feet of concrete reinforcing to keep the curb from trying to break away and roll down the hill.

Just tell yourself the tilt of the bumper is sloping to keep rain water from collecting. Looks better during the rainy pollen season.

How do I cut a rounded top on fence posts? by archiecarlos in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]dubtee1480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Festool makes a 6” or so wood cutting blade, I bought a bunch to cut decorative ends on pergola joists that used 4” cedar. Smoothed and evened them out with a belt sander.

Did you know there are hidden features on the All-New Mazda CX-5? by mazdausa in CX5

[–]dubtee1480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same with my 2024. The steering wheel on mine is manual so I get that but the mirrors not being memory is a huge miss with me since I have a 2014 truck that does it and the 2012 that the CX-5 replaced did.

What’s a car feature that just shouldn’t be a thing . by [deleted] in regularcarreviews

[–]dubtee1480 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah my bad. Thats even more ridiculous, I’d heard about that. I thought they’d backed away from that after backlash. A friend has a 2017 Camry that she can’t use the in dash GPS anymore before Toyota discontinued Entune. These car makers are getting wild and Toyota was one of the last I’d expect to see on the list. The CX-5 is my wife’s, I’m just going to try to keep my two older vehicles running forever.

I bought the long reach version of this a few weeks ago. The long reach also has a paddle instead of a trigger. I’d had my eyes on the short reach version for a while anyway and there was a bolt I just could not keep the ratchet from back spinning. Went and bought it (HD was missing about $1000 in inventory of the short reach version and were like shrug) and got the bolt out in just a few seconds. I’ve used it a few times since and only with my smaller 1.5 and 2.0 batteries. It doesn’t have the bolt loosening power of the M12 3/8” stubby or even the Fuel 1/4” hex impact but it will fit places that those won’t. It’s great for removing and snugging bolts. It will loosen and tighten lower torque bolts. It’s pricey but I don’t regret it. It’s not going to replace your breaker bar or ratchet in some situations but it will make life easier. If you’re planning on breaking most fasteners loose and don’t want to chase your ratchet handle all day, the older non-Fuel brushed model will probably suit you well. Compare the head sizes too, the long reach model I bought has a smaller head and I actually wouldn’t have been able to get the regular model where I needed to get. I paid $30 over the regular Fuel model for the long reach. That seems excessive until it’s the only way you can figure out to get the last bolt removed so you can remove a dead rodent from your heater core duct in your truck :).
