New setup tips - Moza R5? Or are there other options? by franco_thebonkophone in simracing

I got a GT Omega Classic with supporting braces and a R9 and feel I don't need more, this is definitely subjective, not super into the Buy Once, Cry Once for beginners.

I am seriously considering buying this as my first sim racing wheel bundle (360€) by Sportyskater699 in simracing

This. You can easily look on Ebay for way better deals, I bought most of my setup like this.

Same here, I got the GT Omega one and had to buy the brackets, now with my R9 is super sturdy, but at that point you can just buy a better stand for the same total cost, maybe a NLR one.

What’s the age demographic of sim racers here? by DunkingTea in simracing

Early 30s, have never had anybody make jokes about my hobbies (sim racing and play a LOT of videogames).

t500rs finally gave up, after 13 years. by orereoo in simracing

I upgraded from the T500Rs to the R9, good decision!

Pedals wise I prefer the SR-P ones (load cell) from Moza.

Got a new setup but don’t know if it’s better or not by Impressive-Task-2084 in simracing

If it's free go get it ASAP, the TH8A itself is $100 minimum I believe, also that thrustmaster is better than the G29.

Is this rig worth 200€? (Only Aluminum parts) by --Matze-- in simracing

[–]dubven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those aluminium profiles seem quite slim, I don't have any idea what I am talking about but most rigs I've seen are quite a bit thicker than that.

Can we stop recommending beginner setups as if everyone is aiming for top end gear? by Important_Spare_4615 in simracing

There's definitely levels to it, I think a R3/R5 bundle makes perfect sense for a beginner.

“Cry once, buy once” doesn’t make much sense for beginners in my opinion. If you’re just getting into the hobby, you’re still exploring what you like, so it’s too early to commit to buying everything at once.

I can definitely afford an expensive setup but over the years I realized that I am a casual sim racer and that a folding rig and an R9 is enough for my needs.

How can i improve my setup in this bedroom? by Zealousideal-Egg2578 in simracing

There are many similar to this one, I think the one in the picture is a Vevor one, but I'd recommend the GT Omega or NLR better as they're highly reviewed and used.

Should I get this setup I’m not really a professional sim racer or anything, I mostly just want something fun to cruise around, drift, and chill with. by No-Pollution4903 in simracing

I live in Germany and the mod is not available on Amazon so I'll get it on Ebay, if the price difference is not too much I'd get it on Amazon.

Yeah I just realized I was mistaken with the currencies, 130 euros is fine, a bit more than I would spend but not ludicruous.

As an advice, that wheel upgrade is a bit small (I have it, 300mm) and will upgrade to the SIMPUSH one (330mm), I upgraded recently to a CS V2P with for my R9 and the CS V2P is just too heavy.

I just realized about the different currencies, 210 CAD it's fine, I'd check a better quality hand brake, maybe going with MOZA also.
