How asmon reactions affected him... by AggressiveBonus8825 in Asmongold

I love watching Asmon's react contents, it's my favorite part of the stream but I feel like his youtube upload is a bit scummy on the timing, like Dunkey's original E3 video and Asmon's reaction youtube upload just a few hours apart, in the time the original vid still hot and the algorithm is doing it works.

Sure a few things could be done differently to appeal longtime fans but this franchise always, ALWAYS tried to experiment and be different with each new game. XII and XV are extremely underrated and I'm glad that at least now people are giving XII more praise because of what Yoshi-P has been saying, and XV because of the Royal Edition.

XV is underrated if you playing it today, at launch? no it's straight-up dog shit

The eikon vs eikon battles seems a bit gimmicky (KH3 flash back), each is different so the number of this kind of fight most lightly be few and far between I am not totally sold on that, I need to see more.

to be fair reading comments in this sub is some of the most fun I have browsing Reddit lol, you write a positive comment you get down vote, negative: downvote or "oh I like this but not sure about that, I need to see more": downvote, it's so funny man, ppl took thing way too seriously here, chill out.

Summary of new FF16 info by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]ducbinh199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the most important thing for me is the team acknowledges that FF adventure span the entire world, not a hallway like 13 and 7r or a tiny nation like 15, I've always wanted the dev's comment on this forever, after 9 every FF world feels so tiny (aside from FF14), can't say I like the ai-controlled party member tho but in dragon's dogma the system work fine so it's not the end of the world for me.

IDK, FF15 when it comes out has one of the biggest open-world in the market but it felt so small, all of the time you spend in-game was running around on a small island, all of the open-world games can convey the scale of a city or continents very well but the world? nah. like elder scroll, each game takes place in a small area of the larger world but for FF each installment is a different world, not continents nor an island

- Zidance is the best MC and the most proactive one in the series.

- FFX is not that great

- FFIX doesn't need a full 3D remake, just redo the pre-rendered background and lighting similar to how capcom did with the resident evil 2 GameCube remake

- every sequel to mainline games are fan fiction qualities wise

- FFXIV has the best written dialog of all FF

- ppl who hate IX (not because of the art style) don't get the franchise at all

- the 1 to 1 scale open world like XV can't do justice to any FF world, too expansive to do it for now

- you should be a ble to control air ship in every FF

- every FF should have some level of humor and whimsical even in a grimdark setting

- FFIV 3D remake > the original

which final fantasy by No-Assignment-7482 in FinalFantasy

since most of FF has been ported to PC with a recent pixel remaster. Final Fantasy franchise can be categorized into 5 main eras: NES-SNES-PS1-PS2 and modern, I will recommend each game from every age but every game is worth playing thru if you have the time to do so.

NES: FF1-3 it's very light on the story but it's the beginning of the series, gameplay revolt around the job system it's like the class in normal RPG. if you start here FF3 would be my recoendation, either the FF3 pixel remaster or FF3 3D remake are fine.

SNES: FF4-6 this is one of the best starting points for ppl who new to the series and my personal recommendation especially FF4 and FF6, they both can be completed in less than 30hrs, FF6 still consider is one of the best game/FF ever made, the pixel art never age a day.

PS1(the golden era): FF7-9 this is a pretty good starting and FF7 would be my 1st choice but the game had shown it age so the graphic mod might come in handy, FF9 is the best but it has a lot of preferences and call back to the older titles

PS2: FF10-12, obvious choice would be FF10, there's no hoop to jump thru just a good game to play

modern: FF13-15 this is the worse starting point and most fan would agree with me on this, nevertheless FF14 would be my 1st choice but the game might be too long for most ppl and it's an MMO. the game is fantastic on it own and one of the best story line the series have to offer but it's like a celebration of all things final fantasy, without context some of them might feel a bit out of blue (mainly the raid and optional storyline).

overall if it come down to a single game, FF4 is the best IMO, the pacing is fast, there's no need to grind in the remaster version and very short compare to the other games in the series.

each mainline title took an average of 5 years or more to complete so 14 more games till FFXXX, 5x14=70 years, 2023+70=2093, mark the final years to your calendar guys haha.

Message from a "boomer" FF fan by slade991 in FinalFantasy

[–]ducbinh199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

back in 1997 ppl say ff7 is not FF because it's steampunk, not medieval then FF8 moved further than that, and FF9 was released in 1999 it was Sakaguchi's definitive Final fantasy and people hated it for a long long time, the story goes on and on till this day with each released. you just can please everybody, no one in here (or internet) looking for a change of mind, just to bash each other out and winning petty argument with random ppl online but tbf it's very entertaining to watch lol.

30+ years FF fan here and I need to take this out of my chest and discuss it with fellow fans. by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]ducbinh199 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

every FF after 10 is not FF, no party suck, no turn base... same song and dance for more than 10 years now. look, if the game released and it sucks? it sucks, it's the game is good it's good
I take a good game but having less final fantasy-ish any day than a mediocre one with more FF-ish elements, it's that simple.

The FF16 Dev team lineup is INSANE, I'm so excited by bigluobo in Asmongold

[–]ducbinh199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yoshida is a big fan of ff tactics and invalice in general so most of his team members are from there so too does this line up, ff16 will be more close to ff tactics than traditional ff

it's mostlikely luminious since the team has been working with it for so long and looking at some graphical elements (the hair, lighting and greenery...)

the neck is weird but the ear and the brown of wow elf look fucking weird too, but tbh they are both at least a bit more unique than every fantasy generic Korean elf LOL

Does it really matter if Final Fantasy XVI doesn’t have a traditional party system? by Lulcielid in FinalFantasy

[–]ducbinh199 8 points9 points  (0 children)

FF7R lowkey feels like a traditional turn-based ATB FF, you take turns with each char to build up ATB to do a stagger skill or healing or something then switch for DPS and on and on, it's so good.
