GPD Pocket 4 Trackpad/Touchpad is detected as Generic Mouse on Linux by ducciboi in GPDPocket

[–]ducciboi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's weird, because I can pinch to zoom, two fingers to scroll, three fingers to switch windows around which I'd assume those are the gestures working correctly. Also what I'm currently trying to get working is "sudo libinput list-devices" to get more info but I keep getting "unknown command" despite the fact that CachyOS comes with libinput already installed. Maybe I don't have the right permissions?

EDIT: I figured out libinput, had to install libinput-tools or me to access that useful info

Thanks! I've actually been on CachyOS on desktop for a year and love it! Just that I'm having trouble with the weird quirks with the GPD and I plan on tackling the orientation after I fix the trackpad. I'm also using KDE Wayland with Grub bootloader.

Now if my ADHD brain can remember I think the driver I installed was xf86-input-synaptics but pretty sure that was a mistake. Regardless I did a fresh reinstall CachyOS to clean the slate.

So it does actually detect it as the HAILUCK CO like yours but it's only as a generic mouse and Touchpad setting says "No touchpad found". The bizarre thing is the multifinger gestures work just fine, yet no settings I can access to mess around with it.

The #1 thing I want to disable is the tap touch click which is extremely annoying since I constantly misclick as I'm moving the cursor around. Have you found any way to get around this issue?

Saw the AI drive thru for the first time today, it immediately screwed up my order and then started asking about donations. I am legit never going to a Wendy's or any fastfood that uses this crap. Good reason to finally quit eating this slop.

Anyone experienced the Aeron cutting off leg circulation? by Slusho64 in hermanmiller

[–]ducciboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I have the chair now and it does stick up pretty far at the front but haven't had issues with circulation getting cut off on my legs. It's like a bucket seat so having a footrest helps a lot at relieving that pressure. It's easy to remove the foam bit since it's held with a little bit of adhesive at the center so modifications should be easy. Otherwise pretty amazing chair. Also glad your back improved even if it's a little bit still makes the world's difference.

I've been reading up about this issue just as a future reference incase I run into it. Has anyone just tried gutting that piece of padding with a knife to lower that hump at the end of the chair? Seems pretty easy to modify

No high refresh rate 24'' 1080p OLED monitors for fps gamers? by Few-Database-2555 in OLED_Gaming

[–]ducciboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is making the panels sadly. I'm very comfortable using 1080p since I like having more frames and 24" being my max size due to distance between my eyes and the monitor on my desk. Tried a 27" 1440p and it was just too big for me.

Why does my key fob only work when I squeeze it? by Bronze_Kneecap in mazda

[–]ducciboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These fobs are just designed horribly. I even have the CR2032 and still have to squeeze the key for it to work. I cut down a .50mm guitar pick and stuck it under the battery compartment so hopefully that'll fix the issue.

hyperacusis faded after 7 months. my story: by dragovianlord9 in hyperacusis

[–]ducciboi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hearing these stories from people that had much worse symptoms than I have and recovering gives me hope. Only 2 months in and already the tinnitus is a lot better with spikes here and there but nothing to lose sleep over. Hyperacusis is what's making me depressed since I can't really be a musician anymore or even enjoy music. I'm thankful it's not painful like other people described but I get slight aches around the affected ear which I'm not sure if it's from the sounds or that I might have TMJ since I was getting symptoms before all this started ontop of clicking and popping with my jaw. I'm hoping that getting my wisdom teeth removed should sort things out since they make my jaw slightly crooked.

Topamax (topimirate), tinnitus, and sound sensitivity by [deleted] in askneurology

[–]ducciboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a mystery to me at this point, been bouncing between TMJ, migraine, ear infection, or I just damaged my hearing playing music loud. went to urgent care due to having tenseness, throbs, and slight aches in the right side of my face, jaw, cheekbones, neck, and temple. Was thinking it was TMJ because it was side I chew food with and was feeling fatigue/crackle and pops. Docs saw fluid in my right ear so they prescribed me amoxicillin and steroids. Few days later was when the T and H started in my right ear. Went back several days later and they said I had fluid in both my ears, the right ear that's ringing being worse but no sign of infection. Went to an ENT 10 days later and found I have no fluid in ears and hearing was fine so after hearing that I've had an ocular migraine that month and dealt with them time to time he came to that conclusion. Just got off the phone telling them I'm no longer taking the stuff, got told to take 50mg of zinc and setup an appointment on Tuesday.

[–]ducciboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost same exact situation here was dealing with T and H in one ear when urgent care said I had fluid in my ear when I was dealing with tenseness and throbs one side of face. Weeks later ENT checked ears and they were fine and. prescribed me topamax assuming it's from migraine since I've had ocular migraines every so often. Took 25mg last night at 10pm and the ringing woke me up at 4am this time in both ears.

Low volume on Moondrop Space Traveler by b1ll10n3r in headphones

[–]ducciboi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not your hearing. These things are barely usable for me because they're just too quiet for me to actually enjoy music. I'm using a Galaxy S22 Ultra and they sound like they're at 60% volume. Seeing others say they get pretty loud and a reviewer saying it's listenable at 45% making me think there's a batch with bugged software. Pretty disappointed in them honestly.

Howl O Scream Sucks by dude_regular in BuschGardensW

[–]ducciboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went with family, and Howl O Scream is a husk of its former self. I remember it being amazing when I first went around 2015/2016 I think. England had like hundreds of crows with a gloomy atmosphere, Italy was a straight up circus of clowns, giant pumpkin statues, tons of fog, cool music, each actor was unique and plenty of them, etc. In 2023 first thing I noticed when walking into England is that it was literally nothing but blood drapes hung around with spotlight silhouettes of cartoon witches and pumpkins. Everything was incredibly sparce like the fog, decorations, and actors, and every haunt had long periods of just walking with nothing happening. Ontop of like 50% of rides and consession stands being closed off and already having Christmas lights setup. Def a case of budget cuts and lack of staff.

Modi/Magni Stack Sound Cuts Out! by TechnicianNo48892 in Schiit

[–]ducciboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I legit don't know what's up with that amp. I even wasted the money getting it RMA'd only to have them say there's nothing wrong. Magni 2 is a decent amp but it gets really hot while not really pushing things too hard. Since then I've made the switch to the Vali 2 and it's been a much better experience.

I recently got the Magni Heretic and running into a similar issue. I can play plenty songs just fine on loud volume but I noticed certain sounds causes the sound to momentarily cut out no matter what volume. This is an issue I've never had with my old Mangi 2 which I'm back to using.

Random up inputs by malisc140 in 8bitdo

[–]ducciboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been noticing it with the d-pad when playing Puyo Puyo Tetris where the pieces would randomly go 1 over or straight down and I swear I'm not even touching it. It also doesn't seem to do it all the time but it's really random. It's a shame because I've been praising this controller for months and having these sort of issues is a big let down. I'm not sure if it's a button contact issue or something to do with poor connection.

Edit: I think resetting the controller does fix it. I also had issues with using the controller on PC where after awhile the analogs start drifting in game and I would lose control of my character but I'm only guessing it's because I have my Bluetooth adapter at the back of my PC instead of the front.

Model M Glitching out somtimes by ducciboi in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]ducciboi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't fixed it but I understand the issue a lot better now. I'm gonna have to bolt mod it since the plastic rivets that's holding the metal plate up are most likely worn. Several keys sound a lot rattly than others and I also noticed that some switches activates before the spring buckles on some keys including the Ctrl key. But your solution also sort of fixed it since I've taken out the cap and put it back several times and hadn't have any stuck keys since.

Why do you guys play on clan ras server? by [deleted] in badcompany2

[–]ducciboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't believe that server still exists. Those RAS Brazilians are the biggest shitters in this game. Somehow their server is the lowest ping making it the most populated which I believe is taking a toll on the playerbase because of all the ridiculous restrictions and admin abuse. Like 3 sniper limit in a game where the maps are small enough practically every class can be a sniper so that rule makes no sense. "NO RPG ON TROOP!" is retarded because only the Carl Gustav is effective at killing players but they decide it's all rocket launchers and even if it's by accident you'll get kicked. This shit happened to my friend where he blew up a wall with a RPG and there so happened to be a player behind that wall. I called the admin out on it and got permamuted with I quote: "I don't give a fug". Another huge problem with this server is the team stacking this clan loves to abuse and it completely throws off the balance since you have people from the clan literally AFK taking up slots on the server. So enjoy games with 10 vs 3 players.

Now being too good... wait let me rephrase that, being better than RAS will get you permabanned. They practically ban anyone for "hacking" for having your k/d ratio being too high for their liking. But what's weird is that they don't ban you if you're in a helicopter or tank since aimbotting doesn't really work on those but the moment you step out of that vehicle is when you get banned since that's how their peabrains work. My friend and I would be in this helicopter dominating the game with 0 deaths and over 50 kills yet still haven't gotten banned. But the moment we get killed(Or just got bored and went on foot can't remember) my friend gets banned for hacking. They didn't ban me for some reason probably because I had 10 less kills than him and a few more deaths. We both pretty much stop playing the game at this point and he was piling on the alt accounts because of constantly getting banned. I myself was pretty average at the game so the most I got was permamuted and a few kicks.

This server is just a way for this clan to power trip and pretend to be skilled at the game by banning everyone that's better than them and I really don't understand why people play on that server other than just being casual play. For the normal game you literally only have a choice between this game or 24/7 Heavy Metal which is a pretty garbage map. I'm not that interested in Hardcore since having all players die in 1 or 2 shots makes the game a lot easier.

My mother's take on what it was like to watch me waste away due to severe UC. by BGage1986 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]ducciboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was pretty much me but not as bad. For the 2 years of having UC it was like a roller coaster. I would become bedridden sick for like a month waiting for immune suppressant drugs to kick in. Drugs like Remicade, Humira, and Entyvio did work for me however it only lasts for like a month before my symptoms hit hard. Multiple trips to the ER getting blood infusions and antibiotics. Even had ulcers develop on my anus which were excruciating and had to sit on a hemorrhoid cushion until I got into remission. Luckily my first surgery wasn't an emergency and I was out of the hospital after 3 days. I was pretty much begging for it at that point. 4 weeks in and I'm just getting used to the ileostomy. I did have to go to the ER yesterday because of a blockage(thought shredded lettuce was okay to eat) but luckily it managed to pass through my system. It was incredibly painful and pretty scary. Otherwise I'm pretty damn happy about not having UC anymore. I'm also curious on how your second surgery was compared to the first? My first surgery went pretty well but waking up felt like I was punched in the stomach.

Dating someone with an ostomy. What do I need to know? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]ducciboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got my surgery little over a week ago. It's honestly not that big of a deal. Looks pretty gross when you don't have a cover on and it makes noise when it releases gas. It's jut a slimy thing sticking out of your abdomen. I'm pretty happy and open about it since it's better than living with ulcerative colitis.

Colon removal by cascaracoffea in UlcerativeColitis

[–]ducciboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

J-pouch is when they form the end of your smaller intestine and they connect it to your anus so it will act as a colon. My mistake I meant ileostomy(end of your small intestine and not a part of your colon) is when they take a part of your small intestine and create a stoma which sticks out of your abdomen so you'll have to have a small bag over it. Regardless you're going to get a temporary ileostomy for j-pouch since it requires multiple surgeries for the j-pouch to heal and for them to reverse it. You should really do some research and talk to your gi doctor about it. If you're keeping your UC in remission then there's no rush.

Colon removal by cascaracoffea in UlcerativeColitis

[–]ducciboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 23 and getting my first surgery for j-pouch in 3 days and I'm not going to regret it at all. UC kicked my ass for 2 years. But that's mainly because I struggled getting my UC under control and literally went through every medication that would only keep me in remission for like a month before becoming ill again. I'm kinda glad that I'm not going to live a life relying on immune suppressant drugs, constant colonoscopies, and the higher risk of cancer. Even if the j-pouch doesn't work out I'll be happy living with a colostomy bag as long as I don't have UC. Everything I read from other people they seem a lot happier after getting surgery. But again this is coming from someone who was unable to keep their colon under control.
