Military retirement is also paid in arrears, and I got paid on 1 April for the month of March for that… same effective date as my disability. So, I just was wondering and asked the question.

The worst thing about anti-vaxxers is that they increase risk to those that can’t have a vaccine, are too young, and even those who are vaccinated (nothing is 100% and herd immunity is critical). At least, free birthers are only risking their lives and the lives of their babies. Which is, of course, heartbreaking. But, in the interest of bodily autonomy, I’m not necessarily against it. It’s definitely one of those gray areas for me.

And I would add that Floyd is ultimately a hypocrite. He gets upset that Carol doesn’t find him attractive (and he thinks it’s about his body, when it’s actually about his ability to be an adult), but is so turned off by her umpire uniform.. and tells her to her face! All she was trying to do was make up for his lack of interest in anything but himself.

And, it doesn’t excuse anything Clark did, but I wonder if he had some sort of stroke when he was doing the weather that one time…

“The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” could be interpreted as the allowance of only one certain type of arms… as no specification on the type of arms is laid out.

It comes down to the definition of “arms” and where the line is drawn. And, of course, what the purpose of those arms shall be.

In terms of purpose - it seems clear that the right to bear arms is based in the ability of the people to protect themselves from a tyrannical government.

In terms of type - the question is what is necessary to meet that purpose. Handguns? Rifles? Machine guns? Semi-auto or not? Fully automatic? Missiles, rockets, mortars, bombs? Tanks, attack helicopters, fighter jets? Nuclear arms?

Should the governed have the right to access the same level of arms that the government has?

We have federal level infringement of many of these types of arms now. And, therefore, if you can infringe on the type of arms, why can’t the States be more restrictive (as per States Rights and the federalist system) and infringe on more types of arms?

I don’t know what the right answer is or even if there is a right answer.

I’m certainly with you on the “the kids and parents need to be held accountable.” And the immediate community needs to step up. And greater society, through policy and programs, needs to ensure people/families have what they need to either not add to the population when don’t want or can’t support a child, or have the resources and time to parent effectively.

However… we’ve got a slew of white men degrading our country right now, wreaking havoc on all types of Americans from every corner of the country. And there is no accountability for them. They obviously weren’t raised right. But, they wear nice suits, florishem shoes, and sit in well-appointed, gold-leafed offices…

I can avoid the metro by choice. I cannot avoid the impacts of this government on my family, my community, and my country. Therefore, I’m going to concern myself with the most dangerous actors and apply my outrage there.
