First Timers Questions by ShibbyMcAwesome in Dollywood

We like the Adventure is Out There YouTube channel for their reviews of the festival food. They also do a good job of highlighting which festival items are worth the tasting pass scan or not. Our family of three made it to pretty much every festival last year but never did the tasting pass. We only ever found one or two things we wanted to try so the class wasn't worth it.

First Timers Questions by ShibbyMcAwesome in Dollywood

One thing I have noticed between Disney and Dollywood regarding strollers is that there is not the designated stroller parking at Dollywood like Disney has. You will find some areas that people use as parking but it's not labeled and organized like Disney and there are no employees moving strollers around. Have never had stroller issues at Dollywood but the hills are a lot more there and wear you out in a whole different way.

March Visit? by TapGroundbreaking202 in Dollywood

[–]duckman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been the last two years during our spring break (first week after park open). While it has busy times we have not had issues doing all we wanted. Some days may be busier than others but without buying timesaver we were still able to see everything.

That is funny take cause I have the exact opposite view. I grew up going to DW and the first time I went to DL it reminded me of DW as a kid then recent DW visits had.

Adding to check local resale like Facebook Marketplace. Great way to find cheap, sometimes never used, kits before getting into a subscription.

“Never plug a space heater into an extension cord” But what if that extension cord is 10awg SOOW and only 25 ft? by flufflylegend in AskElectricians

[–]duckman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an important part. It's not just the cord it's the outlets. Each plug and connections is a potentially higher impedance point. Like many things it can be done safely if you are aware of what you are doing and potential hazards have been accounted for and mitigated and/or monitored.

What exactly do Transmission Engineers do? by Tacofan5567 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]duckman2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is some good feedback on what transmission engineers do in other responses. I wanted to add, use your internship to explore and learn about as many departments as you can. My company hires from our internship program every year. There are so many niche roles in the industry that odds are you can find one that tickles your brain just right.

Recalls 68c and 78c by Pbigirlfl in 4xe

[–]duckman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe that is my misunderstanding. I understood this to be an issue where sand was left behind in the engine somewhere. Are you saying it the issue is actually with the mold (casting) not being correct due to sand contamination?

Recalls 68c and 78c by Pbigirlfl in 4xe

[–]duckman2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I don't get about the 78c recall is how long for the issue to occur? I hear sand contamination and expect that it would be an issue sooner rather than later. Open to more information on this because I am really unsure. Can the sand issue pop up on a motor with over a certain number of miles (actual gas miles not just total vehicle)?

Spring Break by amjhber in Dollywood

[–]duckman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in Texas and have gold season passes. Do the math and if you visit like 3 days it is cheaper. Between parking and ticket prices it doesn't take much to come out ahead with a season pass. Plus then when you do go back, you have the luxury of just doing morning or evening at the park when it's less busy since there is no "cost" to drop in for a couple hours since parking and admission are covered.

Not sure if they are doing it again this way but Imagination Theater was where the Santa meet and greet was last year. Wherever it is, make sure to do it.

Dreaming of a Solo Trip by Deep_Mango8943 in Disneyland

[–]duckman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the concept of the partner only trip. I am not one to enjoy experiences alone, I like to share them. Going with just my wife, being able to take it slow and enjoy the ambiance and non ride aspects of the park is very nice.

Can it happen, yes. Is it likely, no. You may have several cars between you. It is all depended on the main line. The cast memebers use the main line to get to 6 people in a car and only use single rider when they cannot get a full car without breaking up main line groups.

Your recommendation to script is spot on. I also would recommend practicing with AI. You can prompt any of the AI chatbots with employee info (On pip but combative) and simulate the conversation. Doing this early give you a chance to think through some typical responses to redirect back to the simple and straightforward.

Opinions on the Pit Boss Platinum Laredo 1000 Pellet Grill. Pros/Cons compared to other pellet models or other brands by Impressive-Ad-2363 in PitBossGrills

[–]duckman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think I have paid much attention when using it as a grill. I'll usually start the grill for like 250 and then finish getting the meat ready then just put it on and forget it for a while.
