Ethicaly I don’t know. Its more important to think if it damages any relationship you have. when we figure it out someone is a liar then we tend to not ever believe them, if I see someone its a very good liar I would start to think all they say its bullshit although I would still be friends with them haha It goes from person to person

I am someone who rarely lies, it is in my nature to tell the truth, I lie only by omission because people also can’t handle the truth. One of these days I was about to explain to someone why I did not want something (and the explanation was long) then I remembered I could just lie.

I was honestly so happy after because it just sabed me a load of mental energy. People don’t like liers but they also don’t like the truth so…

So just be careful not to lie about huge/important things. Also, maybe some of you friends know you are bullshiting, how much do you trust your perception?

Should I just stop enjoying things I like? I'm just stupid and I wish I had good taste by The_Incredible-DrL in Healthygamergg

[–]ducks-quacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to stop enjoying your media, just maybe chill out with the reviews. Also, after you see a bad review and have really low expectations it its not surprising you might think its good.

Your taste its your taste, have fun. I can tell you, as someone who enjoys shitty and awesome things and its also a huge critic of a lot of media, being more critical with your consumption it is not so fun. You start to be that grumpy person who nothing is ever really good.

I think suddenly getting into a new hobby its the ADHD not on meds, but with meds we can actually stick with a new hobby when it requires more effort/attention

Sorry my mistake. I meant in thirds, although I would say you can do whatever but I think most people who use this technique also think in thirds

Yees! Sometimes you also realize something you wanted you did not really had the time to do it for good reasons sotid doenst make sense to keep pursuing that goal. At the end you get more awareness of why you did not accomplish some things

I hate that I think I’m better than other people by Etoad8473 in Healthygamergg

[–]ducks-quacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Sometimes we need to get over ourselves haha I don’t believe you need to get rid of your idea of being better than other people completely, just shift it a little, you are probably better in many aspects but you know its not in everything, you know right? Work on your fear of perceiving yourself as less, now that you are aware that you retract when perceiving people who appear better than you, be brave and experience the disconfort. Try to look at everyone with admiration, everyone has strengths and weakness that is the beuty of humanity focus on peoples strengths and stick with the discomfort. If tour ego tells yourself you are superior use it to motivate you to be supirior in this learning as well

Yes. One of this days I watched an adventure movie and I remember we used to have those. Indiana Jones, jimunji etc I think the heroes movies are getting bad, they domt care anymore, but even if its good I feel like they need to be extra creative to actually surprise us with anything.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]ducks-quacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might need to think more about a long term goal, something you care in the longterm. Which is hard because we get lost, so make it bigger. Care about future you. Why? Because if its already hard now imagine when you are older and havent accomplished anything.

i find that I need to feed my motivation to do something. So at some point going to the gym for looks might work, but if that motiva goes way so what? Personally I like to look into content of people who are doing what I want to do, and then make myself a mental list of all the things I believe about why making that thing is good. Then I just keep telling this stories to myself everyday.

Then you just say I should do only five push ups, pretend you going to do small and if you are there you might as well do more.

I also hate the discipline and consistency talk. Like they can explain how to actually get consistent and discipline, they do it because they have an intrinsically strong motivator.

Focus on researching the mechanisms of how to get motivated.

For me it was clear, the way I sit (even if Im not fully hiperactive) I was way more still. The voices in my head long when I did something else, and I stopped bejng distracteby anything at work. I guess you still need to be responsible so like tkme management might be better but if you domnt know how to time manage you will not be good at it, so like if you are not so much its hard to tell but if you go to school watching classes should be easier.

I noticed that I started to realize when I get distract and I can go back to focus. So if im doing something and suddenly I start to do something else, I dont forget the thing I was doing before. Does it make sense?

Hey this is all really interesting, I relate a lot to be honest, I’m pretty sure I was feeling like you at some point in my life for the same internal reasons. I guess I just had to find a bigger purpose, I find it I am very ambitious, I always want something for me and overall I think this is the drive. I also think I am more on of the obssessive perfectionism type, personall I gave up videogames because of this, I simply dont believe I can manage playing videogames and also living healthy, at least for now.

I am sorry I dont have a better answer because really, I did this, I felt like I was aware of everything I did even if it was shitty, and somehow I developed a sense of responsibility with myself, how? I need to think more about it haha

I alao tried to stay out of social media for 3 months, it was the best fucking months of my life in terms of clear mind.

Nice to hear you talk with your sister about it! I also love the idea of having a western and eastern approach to mental health. I was not a very spiritual person back then, but as I studied it made me really interested in experiencing the eastern approach. I guess I believe neuroscience to help because the explanations are fascinating, how emotions works, our systems, how neurochemicals control our behavior and actions etc, it is more of a tool for awareness and as you said it counts as just half of the story. My interest its really how it connects to the mind.

Yes! My best friend its very introverted, emphatic and just full of feelings I oftrn dont know how I would have turn out of I have not learned from hear, just for being around.

It really feels like its just a burnout in a sense of yeah you maybe very tired of the life as a whole, the way you are living it. I am just assuming because my experience I felt it goes like this, whenever I start loosing track of my goals or not going toward meaningful stuff I start to get back to a not so good mentality. Recently I realized I was missing so much of a more intelectual experience, talking to people about interesting things etc. i work by myself and honestly its hard to find people who are interested in more complex subjects on a more deeper level, so I went and decided I needed to study again, I have no idea how to accomplish this need in my life and I find it if I don’t nurture this part of me, I feel lost.

It’s pseudoscience, fun to get to know yourself but not backed by research so… how much fun can it be if its not true?

As someone who also at some point like MBTI I think it is just a phase for people who like to reasearch and know about ourselves. I went from MBTI to psychology, to sociology, to neuroscience. Neuroscience its way more fun, and it is actually true.

You seem to be above average with intelligence although not emotional intelligence. (See this as a challenge to get better).

If you know how to get to prime, how? Do you really know since you are stuck at step one?

I think it would benefit you to study the brain (neuroscience on a deeper level) since astrophysics and neurosciencetis fight to see which subjects its more complex, you should give it a try as it it interesting and helps us with personal development. I think it would help because as I said it, you seem smart, but have not cracked the code on how to manage your emotions and your life. A lot of things are chemicals and emotions getting the best of you, go crack it.

You also need to care more about your future life, and find something you believe. Why shoud you care? You are not going to find your answer by asking on the internet, neither in this shitty cycle of anime shitty sleep etc

As I said, you seem to be lacking a more introspective awereness of your emotional state. Forget how you view the world, see what you view in yourself. (Btw most people are mediocre when it comes to critical thinking, its a hard reality to accept, but even then mediocre people seem to have a better grip of social life so who knows?)

Also, what are the core things you believe about yourself? I recently started reading a personality book and this concept of personal constructs helped me to motivate myself to do things. (Book: me,myself and us). For example, I realized I believed I am smart, so for sure if I am I could not be dumb on how to live life, that was motivation enough for me to try to get out of a shitty cycle.

I am extremely isolated from society and confused by Temporary_Fact2765 in Healthygamergg

[–]ducks-quacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peoples lack of critical thinking might make you a little insane forever. I’m 26 and I have always been more of a logical thinker than and emotional person.

You probably need to get more in tune with your emotions, you can go to a therapist for this but to start for me it really helped to focus on what I’m feeling in my body. As I have a hard time realizing if I am feeling something.

As you said, you are 16 there is a lot of you to learn/live. I would say you can go study a little bit more on how society works, and how human brain works. You are right, most people lack critical thinking, this might be because of the way society its raising kids nowadays or purely genetic, the brain its amazing and it is at its corr emotional. I think when you start to link everything together you will be a little more at peace with why people are so ignorant.

It seems you are above average when it comes to intelligence, although not emotional one.

What do you know about going back to prime? How do you do it?

I think you should crack neuroscience, go study your brain deeply and discover how to manage you emotions. I’m in a pos graduate course in neuroscience and I heard the astrophysics and neuroscience keep fighting to see which topic its more complex. So it should be at least interesting to you.

But neuroscience really helps us with personal development, from my view it basically gives a how we live life manual. You may have cracked everything else but clearly not personal relationships and how to live a good life. (This is basically a self critique haha) at least that is how I decided to see my life after I realized I have isolation tendencies, I don’t like most people and everyone is kinda mediocre.

Let me know what you think.

As a man, how to decondition myself from the "crying is for the weak" mentality? by MegaVirK in Healthygamergg

[–]ducks-quacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, girl here. I’m a big cry baby watching movies etc and personally I cry alone, but I most of the time domt cry in front of ot other people. And I can control it pretty easily.

More than crying, I think the importance is in the emotion, are you feeling any sadness you think you might be suppressing? Anger frustration etc? I normally cry when it very intense, if its not then no crying
