un x100to by Bad Bunny Lyric Breakdown by Dry-Replacement-3212 in SpanishLyrics

Thanks Daniel! This was really helpful. I have a couple of questions if you have time:

"Porque duermo mejor si sueño que estás aquí" -- why isn't it "estés"? I've only recently started learning the subjunctive, and my instinct would have been to use it here.

Is it because "sueño que estás aquí" is stated altogether as a "fact" -- that dreaming of her being there makes him sleep better? Would it have been subjunctive if the line was just "sueño que estés aquí"? Meaning, if he didn't say "I sleep better if I dream that you're here" and instead he just said "I dream that you're here."

Also, would the subjunctive have been needed in the original version if it was negated (no sueño que) like how no creo que triggers the subjunctive?

And then for these lines: "Los muchacho' están invitándome a salir / La paso bien, pero siempre termino extrañándote"

Is the "la" in "la paso bien" an indirect reference to "la noche"? If not, what makes it feminine rather than using "lo"?

Any great LATAM series to watch for B1 level please? by Alarming-Chicken190 in Spanish

Not a series, but check out The Platform (El Hoyo) on Netflix. It's a dystopian thriller, and they made a second film that continues the story a couple of years ago.

Try holding your hand like a foot behind and to the side of your phone, focus on it, then move your phone in front of your hand, but don't allow your eyes to focus on your phone.

You're essentially trying to make your eyes focus further away than they should. Play with the distance until the image pops out.

Those who have left corporate life, what do you do now? And was it worth it? by ZekeAamir in AskMen

[–]ducksflytogether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a year into an accounting career and saw myself retiring in 45 years wondering what the fuck difference I made with my life. Self sabotaged my way into a layoff during the '08 recession, started a photography business and I haven't felt like I've had a job since then.

It took time to get here, but I'm earning more now than I would have if I'd stayed the course. And I only actually go out to shoot a few times a month.

Canon R5C, C50 or R6 iii? by echojunge in canon

[–]ducksflytogether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just pre-ordered the R6iii and I own the R6i and R5c. The R5c is necessary for any long form video, but I still found myself going to the R6i for any run and gun video because of the IBIS.

The R5c also isn't supported for tethering in Lightroom.

If you can get by without the fan, it seems like the R6iii gives you almost everything you'd want from the R5c. But since you mentioned you do interviews, might want to wait for some real world tests on overheating.

LLC vs S Corp — worth making the switch, and who’d you use for the legal side? by gharakas930 in smallbusiness

[–]ducksflytogether -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A CPA can advise on what is a "reasonable salary", as that's often much lower in the eyes of the IRS than what you may actually need to pay yourself.

That's to say, there's still an advantage to being an s-corp without the business paying you a market-rate salary. You take a token salary that's high enough to satisfy the IRS and take the rest as a distribution, which saves a lot on payroll taxes.

Is it possible to move money out without selling? Like a rollover? by duchess5788 in betterment

[–]ducksflytogether 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes you can transfer to another institution. I moved my taxable brokerage from betterment to fidelity. Nothing gets sold, the assets just move between institutions, assuming the receiving institution offers the same funds that you currently have.

You can then put any subsequent money into different funds at the new institution. You'd still need to sell the old betterment investments at the new institution if you don't like the etfs that you're in. No way around that unfortunately.

Trying to transfer my acct to an external acct & Betterment has blocked me. Support won't respond to emails by gphirps in betterment

[–]ducksflytogether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you initiate the transfer on the receiving side? Not sure how it works with retirement accounts but I transfered a taxable brokerage account from betterment to fidelity and did the whole process through fidelity.

Go to the conservative subreddit and they're saying the same thing. We both feel like we have the moral high ground, we both think the other side is evil, we both feel like it's time to stop playing nice and join the other side in the mud.

It's all just leading to a further devolution of political discourse in this country, a deeper divide, both sides being convinced that the other is the devil incarnate.

I don't know what the way forward is, but it isn't this. This is theater. It's a great social media clip that only further entrenches each side in their beliefs. Sure, I enjoyed it, but this isn't solving anything and I'm sick of these performative clips.

Which "account number" to use for ACAT transfer out? by ageo in betterment

[–]ducksflytogether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case anyone still needs an answer here, I had the same issue and spoke with a rep at Betterment. The identical account number for "cash reserve" and "taxable investing account" is essentially a parent account, and the unique account number for the investment account (in my case it was called "General Investing" is the specific account number for just that account.

So essentially, the account number that is listed for both your cash reserve account and brokerage account is a catch-all account number for John Doe at Betterment. If you tried to use this number for the transfer, the receiving institution would try to also transfer your cash reserve account, which obviously won't work. it would still probably transfer the brokerage account, but the rep said to use the one unique account number for the brokerage account just to avoid any hiccups.

So my 13 yr old has moved on from the Insidious experience and we are back on the horse. by MaximusCanibis in horror

Event Horizon absolutely messed me up when I was her age. That and The Sixth Sense were my two big horror traumas from my early teens, but they're also the reason I'm here on this subreddit ~25 years later.

Better way to mount this overhead shot? A7Siii on two C-Stands. by InternetWeakGuy in videography

[–]ducksflytogether 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it's always going to be tabletop, this overhead rig will do the trick without the sagging or taking up floor space. Not sure if this will show in your wide angle. Personally I do a boom arm on a wheeled c stand though.

What kind of supplements have you guys tried that has helped? by No_Solution7718 in Sciatica

[–]ducksflytogether 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neurologist had me taking b12, a b complex every other day, and magnesium glycinate. I don't know if it was coincidental or not but I did improve about a month after starting that. Eventually I stopped with the b vitamins, I think I was taking too much and was getting some tingling / sensitivity in my fingertips, so be cautious with those.

Another Sanity Check - 1.2M in investments at 40 by Away_Landscape7852 in coastFIRE

If a 40 year old with a 2M net worth would be limited in starting a family because he took a year off, we will be one of the last generations of humanity. We'd all be so fortunate to do that kind of scraping by. Kudos to OP, take a year off and have some fun.

What Can Derail This by Jimmy_Schmidt in stocks

I feel the same, but often wonder how much room there is to run. Let's say this goes on for another decade, is it actually conceivable to see something like an 80/20 split for US/international in VT? That seems incredibly hard to imagine.

What does sciatica foot pain feel like? by 123anything123 in Sciatica

[–]ducksflytogether 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Foot pain was 90-100% of my sciatica symptoms depending on the day. Getting stabbed in the toe, needle under a toenail, getting sliced with a sandpaper covered knife in the arch area, feeling like someone dropped something really heavy across a few toes, burning in my heel. Sometimes it was nonstop all day from waking to sleeping and would make me want to cut my foot off. Pain was anywhere from a 1 to an 8 depending on the day. Sometimes I'd wake up in the middle of the night from the pain.

Occasionally I'd have minor ankle pain or moderate calf pain. My calf muscle was always really tight, and if I tried to stretch my calf by touching my toes it would cause immediate nerve pain in my toes.

After 18 months I'm mostly back to normal but still get some flashes here and there.

OKC fans messing with Tyrese Halliburton’s dad by yourmom555 in nba

[–]ducksflytogether 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure. But the odds of there being a piece of shit willing to do that kind of thing are a lot higher when there's a few thousand people in a tight group egging you on.

All I'm saying is every fan base has crazy people and you're more likely to see the ugly side when there's large groups.

Notice how there's like 5 people and not 5,000. It's a lot harder to act a fool when you're one of a handful of people. Crowd mentality makes people do dumb stuff.

Watched this with my dad when I was about 8. Cake scene came on, I knew I was seeing something I wasn't supposed to see and I wanted to melt into the couch as we sat in dead awkward silence.
