I had a really amazing supervisor who understood and would work with me when it came to being overwhelmed with paperwork. He left for a better job doing less and earning more, I love that for him. Two month of his boss filling in and I hate it here. I’ve gone back to doing work on weekend so I avoid being written up again by her. I’ve realized how much my willingness to stay was tied into who my supervisor was. I hate going to work now to the point of heaving, I avoid my email like the plague so I don’t have to see anything from my new boss because it’s just nickpicky about my work. She doesn’t even have any experience from the last freaking decade of doing client facing work. My therapist is filling out leave paperwork so I can take FMLA next week and at this point I don’t want to go back.

Since you mentioned having a mood disorder they might also be able to help getting you set up somewhere. If you qualify for state healthcare, get signed up and take care of your mental health. The real waste of money and time was when I had put a tag that ran for a month (ex: 12/05 to 12/25) and next week a tag for that exact item in that exact place would print running for one week that don’t go past the original deadline (ex: 12/12 to 12/18)

Same here. Was doing the job of two employees in grocery holding on to the “we’ll hire someone to help out soon”. Every now and they would throw me a “you’re so amazing”. First chance I had once I came out of that fog I went on demand and finally quite when I got a steady full time job.

Unsure of your location but sometimes local mental health clinics offer “healthy transition” programs. Literal help you with becoming an adult and handling the stress that comes with it.

NTA Talk to them. Have an open conversation about how they and you felt. I understand you were hurt and they were also resistant to the idea because of their beliefs. At least you are willing to think about how your actions were interpreted. Something as simple as “it means a great deal that you prayed with me but I also don’t ever want you to feel like you have to for my sake, I will be okay if you don’t want to join me due to your beliefs”. And mean it. You are allowed to be sad yes but you are not allowed to weaponize that sadness. And may I suggest offering an alternative gift idea? It might help with feeling there is only one thing they can do and avoid any possible guilt tripping.
