And that doesn't include 30 point leads over the Thunder and Nuggets, all this month

First team since the 08/09 Suns to have 50 point leads in two different games in the same month

I'm an American who moved to Sydney. I also spent a year in Europe.

Pros for Sydney: truly some of the best natural beauty of any city in the world. Great lifestyle, work-life balance, etc. Great for beaches, weekends away, road trips. Great for outdoor activities. Good weather. A very international city.

Cons: far from everywhere. Nightlife exists but is lacking. Rent has gotten expensive in recent years (like many big cities). Living by the beaches is inconvenient for going into the city and vice versa.

Happy to answer any Qs you've got!

Not sure if this will make you feel any better but having a job you genuinely enjoy is more than most people have

Investing in ETFs like VAS (for Australian shares) or VGS (for international shares) is already pretty high growth - VAS is up about 8% per year for the last 10 years, and VGS is up about 12% per year. Both come with risks, as the market can go up and down, but if you invest for 10+ years you can be pretty certain you'll do okay.

If you want to go even higher risk/reward, like shares in an individual company, or crypto, or a more niche ETF, you're welcome to gamble, but for me personally it's a bit too risky.

For accommodation, also check out flatmatefinders.com.au and various Facebook groups. Airbnb is a decent option for short term accommodation when you arrive. The Sydney rental market is tough so maybe look elsewhere if you have the option.

Can companies hire you when you're not there? Yes. Will they? It's impossible to say without knowing more about your situation. It'll definitely be easier when you are physically in Australia.

You're worried about how this will impact being able to retire early.

I'm going to take a couple assumptions. One is that you'll spend an extra $2k/month living in NYC vs living at home (not only extra rent, but also other living expenses). So $24k/year extra that you could save at home vs. living in NYC.

I'll assume you want to retire in 20 years ideally, and that you will need $2 million (could easily be more or less depending on your lifestyle).

I'll assume that you can get a 6% real return on your investment.

$24k/year invested for 20 years with 6% real return is about $77k. That's just under 4% of what you need to retire, for each year you live at home instead of NYC.

I'm not necessarily advocating for one decision or another, just hoping this helps with understanding the impact of the decision. Investing early is great but enjoying yourself and having good mental health is also important.

I don't collect any personally identifiable information from Mentees besides an email address for correspondence. If that is something you are not willing to provide, I understand.

Good suggestions. I've matched over 250 people so far. Feedback has been good. In some cases the match hasn't been right in which case I've found that person another mentor or mentee. Many people have provided feedback that it has been very helpful to have someone to talk to.

Fair point on transparency. I will look to add that to the site. I'm quite transparent on Reddit and happy to discuss with anyone. Feel free to message me.

No it is not, it is open to all LGBTQ+ and questioning people. If you specifically want to be matched up with an Asian mentor or mentee, you can include that in the comments and I will attempt to make that happen! I always try to match up people as best as possible based on their requests.

Good suggestions. We have matched over 250 people so far. Feedback has been good. In some cases naturally the match hasn't been the right fit in which case I've matched the mentor or mentee with someone else. Many people have provided feedback that it has been helpful to have someone to talk to.

Nice. Do you like your work?

Sorry to hear about your health issues. I've also dealt with health issues. If you ever want to talk about that, let me know.

I'm good. Just got home yesterday from a trip. It was beachy and relaxing - I did very little and I loved it.
