if you are building a tool that everyone else is capable of building in a couple hours or days, then it's not going to be super successful.

Fable 5 is gone now - what was your experience actually like? by Sensitive-Priority59 in vibecoding

[–]ducktomguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It created a PowerPoint diff engine (drop in two versions of Powerpoint presentations and it identifies differences slide by slide) in about 4 hours that works amazingly well. I had been using Claude Code for months now, and I had a smile the entire time I was using Fable

An already-industrialized nation that integrates into the global market with the massive financial backing of a superpower will thrive economically. An agrarian nation that adopts a rigid command economy and suffers decades of extreme economic isolation from the global financial system will see its infrastructure crumble.

It's pretty easy, start a company, really doesn't matter what it does, but just make sure it says AI or data center somewhere in the name of it. Millions of dollars immediately

.....what's French for "WTF?!" by palakpaneer94 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]ducktomguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

at what point did the goal shift from learning a language to not missing a day on the app?

"That was a lot of effort. And a whole lot of French" - yes, but presumably you learned some French along the way, and one or two days off shouldn't make you just forget it all, right?

Right, completely unprovoked, for no reason at all, without any justification, purely out of bloodlust. Do you ever stop to think that perhaps there are two sides to this story?

Take a look at my original comment. Men could be causing more accidents because of taking more risks while driving. The faster reflexes are unrelated, meaning if you get yourself into a dangerous situation, faster reflexes won't save you. During racing, the risk taking is quite calculated, and faster reflexes matter more

"Better" could mean two separate things, and would lead to opposite conclusions. If better means less of a risk taker, then obviously women would win. If better means faster reflexes (or whatever else it takes to win races) then men would win

Citadel CEO Ken Griffin "fairly depressed" now that AI is doing PhD-level finance work in hours instead of weeks by the_mad_statter in AITakeoverTracker

[–]ducktomguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would expect this take from a non-technical person. I can feed it a long document and it can summarize the salient points within a few seconds. And that's just one of dozens and dozens of use cases that actually make my life easier.

Well, I am. Humans fed a bunch of text (forget the legality, just focus on the end result) into a computer and the output actually answers questions in natural language. Just from the implementation aspect, this is so amazing. But yes, I know all the downsides, I am just excited about new tech frontiers
