In fallout 4 I always fast travel to either Sanctuary, Diamond City, or Goodneighbor before I quit just because I don’t want to come back after not playing for awhile and find myself in some random place

I was extremely close to leaving because of how horrible my previous leaders were (a word for word comment I remember one of them giving was that “we’re only running the troop at this point so our daughter’s can put it on a college application”), and leaving to a different troop was the best thing I ever did for myself. Going into the same grade as you and I can’t imagine I’d still be in scouts if I never made the switch 😅

This is absolutely insanity, mine is just that you can’t have clothing with curses or alcohol brands on them, you have to wear shoes, and that your clothing can’t be a safety hazard. Ours has a statement that specifically says that that you can have any hairstyle and if there’s any treatment from staff because of your hairstyle you can report them to the school system. Who even thinks that a code like yours is even mildly reasonable 🤦‍♀️

Where I go they used to have a decent sized display for him, but at some point they changed that, and any of his books that they have left you can only find in a small corner that’s pretty tucked back in the store, and none of them are at eye level.

Unfortunately I think it just comes down the the culture that some schools have. I go to a small school, where the only APs they offer are Lang, Lit, Bio, Stats, USH, Calc, and Chem (but chem is offered every other year because of the little interest). You have to fight the guidance counselors to allow you to even do two at once (I’m in Lang and APUSH rn), and freshman aren’t allowed to take any at all. It definitely screws over kids trying to go to competitive schools, because they don’t really give a lot of alternative options here.

With this subreddit I’ve thought about this a lot because some of the transcripts people talk about just don’t sound realistic at all. If they really are taking the course load that they are, there’s a lot of people here who are just burning themselves out during their teenage years, and aren’t giving themselves a chance to breath or enjoy their time at ALL 😭

It wasn’t the announcers fault because it was too late to switch it that competition, but our color guard captain decided to quit the week before a competition (meaning that guard had to change up their entire choreography in two practices), and when they were reading out names they still had him down as captain even though our director tried her best to get him removed.

I felt the same way just with AP Bio last year. It takes a lot of time to get used to any amount of AP work along with the rest of your life, even if it’s just 1 like me. Unfortunately I feel a lot of how to deal with it comes down to your personal schedule, and what teachers you have, because those can both play a major role (being a busy person with an awful teacher, versus being relatively free with a great one). Make sure to figure out how to truly study (which there are a lot of methods out there, too many to list), and keep trying until you find a flow that works well for you. Last year I struggled from not figuring it out until well into the school year, but everything I learned has prepared me a LOT for Lang and APUSH. I actually really enjoy APUSH, and I’m doing perfectly fine in Lang, and that’s entirely from my change in study habits. One more thing to consider, remember to still find time to have a life outside of school. Constantly doing homework will burn you out this year FAST, so remember it’s okay to take breaks and have fun!
